Paul Thomas Anderson seems to be planning a new film based on Upton Sinclair's book "Oil!". The title of the film is supposedly "There Will Be Blood" and it will star Daniel Day-Lewis. There is a 130 page script written by Anderson and he is still trying to get financing for the film. is where I found the info. |

i'd imagine a PTA script page last significantly longer than a normal hollywood script page... which means this one's probably gonna be another 3 hour long epic-type dealie... i hope it's cool |

i've always heard people say that one page tends to equal one minute... but that's doesn't take into account PTA's specific fondness for equal parts gushy dialogue a swoopy silent long-takes so um: hence the part i already said. |

Yeah... a page a minute is average, but with the final cut, what ends up happening is a lot of those parts get written out and edited, so as far as I know, it ends up being more like 1.1 page = minute or so. But for the purposes of selling movie ideas to companies and investors, a page a minute is about the rule of thumb. Also, with more dialogue, the page per minute quotient gets raised. Of course, I am no expert either. |
