so I am listening to this now... just got it

what do you guys think of it?

better than one word extinguisher or not?

i see that it has lots more of vocals... and its more
difuse... more chaotic I dont know... I must give it a lot
more listens

anyway looks good...

it's different from one word extinguisher, but I'd kind of
rate it equal.. they're both pretty good; while OWE has lots
of varying stuff due to the lack of vocals, surrounded has
nice backdrops for lots of great vocals!

so prefuse is no longer loved here?

I like how he uses the vocals in this album... voices are
like one more instruemnt... and he uses them in the same
abstract cutting way

i love prefuse, but aside from the Camu Tao track on here, i
think this album is pretty lame. many of the collaborative
contributions are flat-out uninspired (GZA and Masta Killa,
i'm lookin' at you), and in general, things are far to
convoluted to support the MCs in general. it's not that i
think prefuse shouldn't do more tracks with MCs, far from
it. but he's done a lot better in the past (see tracks on
Diverse's album, see his remix of Beans' Mutescreamer, see
elsewhere...). i found this album just really pointlessly
cluttered.
