it perfectly captures my attitude towards this release.

I don't know. Windowlicker and come to daddy were great, and
a few other videos that he directed that I have seen are
good, so I am hoping his short will be of high quality. The
body hair and detail in the body seem fucked up.

I am hoping this will mess up any pinks that see it.

i`m sure it will be at least disturbing, and of course
well-made as always, but isn`t it a little bit too short?
Afx237 V7 is 4:23. And it`s the only track featured?

offline _gvarek_ from next to you (Poland) on 2005-05-26 02:46 [#01612241]

and: is it simply a music video to a quite old Aphex track,
or a seperate work? the warp note says: "short film". a
little bit confusing.

Hmmm. Well, its 6 minutes a bit short. unfortunately, now
that afx has just released about four hours of new material,
the aphex twin song is not going to boost sales too much.
(on the other hand, if he hadn't just released analord, then
every single fankid would line up to buy a copy).

It's a short film.

I heard its gonna be really fast and syncronized. anything
over 6 minutes could be running a bit long depending on how
well he uses 6 minutes of hyperactive material.
i thought gantz graf was a perfect and short vid so..

it`ll maybe not boost the record sales, but Cunnigham`s
choice is right to feature a track from Drukqus. Do you
imagine a dark, moody, "nightmarish", and "hallucinatory"
video to any track of the Analord series?

I don't know. I didn't realize it was from drukqs (I thought
it was an unreleased song for some reason). I didn't like
drukqs :(

Well it's pretty good. It's kind of short though and not
alot happens except he freaks out in his wheelchair. I was
expecting a bit more horror really and a bit of story but
not so. The best bit is the trailer and everything that
surrounds it, the interview of the weird little mutant and
the abuse thrown at him. The afx track is really almost
besides the point. I love Chris's stuff, keep it up man we
are all rooting for you.

i think its a fucking waste of talent/time... why cant the
pair do something substantial and fresh? a completely new
track isnt a lot to ask.. cant be arsed buying this atall,
and i own all the anals.. i mean 6 mins of something a bit
disturbing?? great.. he's done it a million times before.

think of it that way: even a 6 minute work of
Cunningham/old-Aphex is more valuable then 95% of the
TV/radio shit you hear EVERYDAY.

But it is too short, really. (then again, only 9.99 :->)

offline rezpeni on 2005-05-26 03:16 [#01612280]

Well don't get me wrong it's good, it's just we've been
hearing about it for years now and I was expecting a genuine
short film with some story, not just an abstract music
video. I saw it at the Egyptian which seats about 1,000
people? and it was full. All the hipsters in LA turned out,
and it was just to see this, the guy who introduced the
screening was even like 'i know you are all here to see what
the fuck chris cunningham has been up to for the last 3
years' - I also heard alot of people talking about the Ae
show on Sat. Everyone is waiting for him to make good with a
genuine feature like Fincher and Gondry have and he is just
as talented if not more so than those two. So come on chris
we are waiting.

he should be making full-length films by now, let alone
short ones. i agree this release probably will be a more
interesting video than most on tv at the moment.. but thats
all it will be.

He seems to be active enough.

(...) His next two short films with Warp Films, “Rubber
Johnny” and “Spectral Musicians” are scheduled for
release on DVD in 2005.
With much anticipation from his legion of fans, Cunningham
is finally turning his attention to feature films and is
currently developing a feature length script with Warp
Films.

Exaph, why be a little cunt?

Everyone seems to want more and more.
You want them to work together on one track? WTF M8 who
gives a shit. He just released SHITTONS on the analord
series and you still aren't satisfied?

WTF
Do you know that the time put into these 6minutes is
probably MORE than the time most filmmakers put into a short
film?

?????

you people can and never will be satisfied
always wanting more

never happy

can never just accept things for how they are.

jeezous, go fuking piss off if you're not going to
appreciate hard work,

yeah, a retarded, mutalated child in the bassment whose only
friend is a dog; being asskicked through the video by an
aphex twin track ISN'T FRESH ... no sir, i see that shit on
TV every other 5minutes.

sheesh!

and to beckon for a new track? what in the hell is wrong
with afx v11, it's going to be mad killer wicker yo

not to mention this is the track that started the whole
fuking thing

you remember that 15second clip from DrukQs premier? uhh,
that's what started the whoel thing

why would he make that to afxv11, then when he decides to do
a short film, change the fuking track from his "original"
idea

im perfectly happy with all the analords. this is more a
work of cunningham than afx, and i do understand how much
effort goes into it. just my 2 cents elusive so fuck off.

yes, but still, analord 10 is better than anything else
electronica wise in last few years! im looking forward to
his new proper album, im 110% certain is going to be
mindblowing stuff!

analord 10 and 5 are imo awesome... but those are 4 tracks
out of 40 he has released

I think analord could have been a single cd... and it would
have been a masterpiece

isnt this waht so many people criticise about vsnares?
releasing too much filler for a small % of amazingness?

this is a clear example of that then

well, it's all up to personal taste really. i know people
who love the whole analord serie so far (and this particualr
fellow wasn't really into aphex twin before - he's a big fan
of vsnares though, and plenty of other music).
personally i think 10 is awesome and the rest are ok -
infact i made a compilation to listen to in a car just a few
days ago and i had hard time picking the not boring
songs..it just isn't my thing i suppose. as for vsnares - i
find his music blank for some reason..and also it all sounds
too much the same to my ears..at least there's diversity in
analords. but it all comes down to personal taste really..

that is brilliant, that is one of the best quotes in the
world, right up there with "lee has something fluffy for
you"

in all seriousness i can actually say that my mom "loves the

she loves the lp5
