I want something chilled and moody

been buying a lot of fast stuff recently, all very nice,
but I really want something a bit more downtempo.

Think ISAN, Crunch, Fizzarum kind of sound, moody but
melodic

any recommendations?

icebreaker international & manual - into forever
nothing new but excellent

also new m83 is worth a listen

the m83 isn't really chilled though, it's pretty over the
top dramatic...

it's a little more stripped down, but the maps & diagrams ep
"tactile love" on arable records is very nice, and can be
played at both 45 and 33.

check the track ""via hotknives" by casino vs japan.

or the cd "frame" by shuttle 358.

have the m83, really really like it but I'm currently
thinking along the lines of pure electronica, semi
industrial but meloncholic and melodic, brothomstates is
another example of the type of sound I'm looking for

quinoline yellow's cyriak parasol ep is nice...

a little more playful than melancholic, though...

try the ep "sometimes" by opiate...

khonnor's "handwriting" cd is very good, has vocals and a
fair amount of guitar amidst the crunch...

or the classic "atol scrap" by arovane, but you've probably
heard that one...

also, the "lost aberrant dragonfly" ep by michael
manning...

and i'm sure you've heard funckarma also, but if not try
"parts" to start with...

how about "talent hoover" by lucky & easy?

very classic electronic sound, nice melodies with a
wink-wink sense of humor...

Colder- Again is cool and moody, has vocals so I dunno if
it's what you're looking for. Man it's cool though. I also
like Tigrics- Compact Disco, little more playful.

And I hope you've already checked out Freescha, I really do.
They're the best of what you've exactly described.

Opheks, yeah love Freescha, have all his stuff (I think, 3
albums?)

Taxidermist, I know Murcof and Opiate from your list, not
the others though, which of those artists would you consider
to be closest to the more melodic crunchy end of things?,
Murcof is good but can get a bit repetitive and housey for
my tastes, I'm not really after that Monolake 4/4 kind of
sound.

PlaidZebra, yeah I know Atol Scrap it's another really good
example of the sort of sound I'm after, also "Learning to
Be" by Sense if anyones heard that?

cheers for everyones recommendations anyway (and I'd welcome
more of course), I will check out as many as I can,
