One time I emailed my teacher an assignment using my gmail
account and though I sent it the morning of the due date,
she got it late -- the next day. So I'd say no.

Hint: Don't use double rr's in job applications and formal
emails.

Personally I wouldn't use gmail but that has nothing to do
with their trustworthing stuff.

All email without encryption is weak, it makes little
difference who you use.

that could've been because of the domain you were emailing
TO rather than from. maybe.

One problem you have to take into account is spam filtering,
especially going to companies from mass web based email
services.

Even though I don't have the intelligence to know if this is
relevent to the discussion, I have virtually ZERO spam in my
gmail account. Lots in hotmail though. I don't really get
how they give these accounts away free with so much space.
They must be in debt with the intention of monopolizing the
market then finally charging a fee.

people pay major samolians to put their advertisements on
your email.

but, yeah, i doubt they're making their money back on gmail
just yet. but, they will.
