µZIQ best Album

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-21 15:13 [#00006958]

Maybe I'll buy my first µziq CD, so I'd like to know what
is the best album.
Is It Lunatic Harness?

Help me to choose the best Mike's album.

hell, mike and rich (aphex twin AND U-ziq) is good, my
personal U-ziq album is yango n' vectif,

his other album that i have got is in pine effect, which is
also good.

i wont make the choice for you, because most likely there
will be heaps of people telling you what to get.

In Pine Effect is the best one, then Lunatic harness, then
Bluff Limbo, then Tango N' Vectif.. ann.

Fresch from Trondheim on 2001-05-22 00:18 [#00007002]

You should definately get Tango 'n Vectif.
It's not as "jungly/drum'n'bassy" as Lunatic Harness and
it's much more melodic than his other albums. If you like
metal squeaking sounds layered with beatiful tunes..get this
one!

(It's also the album that got him signed to Rephlex...)

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-05-22 05:08 [#00007016]

I have Bluff Limbo, which is brilliant, beautiful, really
melodic (except for Metal Thing#3 of course), has a couple
of dance trax (he makes dance songs REALLY good)

Arch Rival from NY on 2001-05-22 10:46 [#00007022]

Brace Yourself and his latest album with that song The Fear
is his best (and ofcourse Lunatic).

tango n' vectif rocks, it very good, strangre sounds,
beautiful melodies...

Aron? from Canada on 2001-05-23 05:49 [#00007069]

I wanna get Lunatic Harness, but I can't find it anywhere!

Yesterday I was in the A&B Sound in Edmonton, and I couldn't
decide if I wanted Royal Astronomy or Expert Knob Twiddlers.
Eventully I chose Royal Astronomy, I haven't hade a chance
to listen to it yet though.

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-24 02:13 [#00007141]

Aron?: wow.. you were in MY city! AH! Which A&B sound were
you in? The one down on Calgary Trail? Thats the best one,
and the album you got it awsome.

Aron? from Canada on 2001-05-24 04:11 [#00007148]

Yeah, I was in Edmonton for the long weekend, it was really
fun! I'm not quite sure witch A&B Sound I was at (I thought
there was only one in Edmonton), but I think it was the one
down Calgary Trail.

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-24 04:19 [#00007149]

Aron?: no, there are 3 of the in Edmonton im pretty sure. oh
well... haha.. edmonton fun? Yeah I suppose it can be,
without all these ravers.. ah! Well what did you do??.

YOYO from Sweden on 2001-05-24 11:48 [#00007158]

Very GOOD choice, Royal Astronomy IS FANTASTIC!!!!

Aron? from Canada on 2001-05-24 19:08 [#00007167]

I went to the mall and did Playdium, went on some rides,
went swimming and shopped for some clothes and Cds.

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-24 22:57 [#00007170]

Aron?: I thought palydium was shutdown. Haven't been to the
mall in a few months. It bores me, and its a big hang out
for ravers and such. aH!.. but yeah you had fun so its good.

Id go with Tango N Vectif or Lunatic Harness mate.

Both are U-ziqs most consistently good forays-no duff
tracks.

Also check out Salsa With Mesquite.

But if youve heard nothing by Mike P Id actually start you
off with Jake Slazenger's "Makes A Racket""-fucking
amazing-and with it being summer and everything it would be
perfect for those chilled sunny days. Where's my "Sprybat"
at then

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-06-20 16:50 [#00010500]

Which is the album with more melodies?
I'm undecided to chose between Lunatic Harness, Tango N
Vectif and Royal Astronomy...

God I love the Motorbike Track!

In Pine Effect is really heavy, as a friend of mine put it,
and Lunatic Harness is so great, real rambunctious. I think
my fav. is Lunatic Harness. (Which was stolen from me! Don't
worry, I ordered it again.)

DirtyLittleBoy from USA on 2001-06-21 01:15 [#00010548]

i know who "µziq" is
but who the fuck is "mu-ziq"

Organ Grinder from my own little fantasy world on 2001-06-21 04:28 [#00010561]

I just bought my first U-ziq cd's today. I bought "Lunatic
Harness" and "Royal Astronomy," and i ordered "Tango n
Vectif" from a cd place but i don't think they'll order it
cause the guy there was an asshole to me. :(

I really dig U-ziq's music. I first heard of Mike P through
Aphex Twin (Mike n Rich) and his music is much different
than i expected it to be. I dig it.

I guess that's what Aphex does to ppl -- i've been exposed
to all this great, different music since Aphex -- Autechre,
Squarepusher (kicks ass!!!) and U-Ziq, Wagon Christ, Bogdan
Raczynski, it's all excellent!

By the way, when i bought "Lunatic Harness" the cover said
U-Ziq, but the label that held the cd shut said "Mu-ziq" so
i don't know what the deal is, and the indie label he runs
now is called Planet Mu. Go figure! :)

Leo DeBoe from USA on 2001-06-21 10:17 [#00010577]

µ = mu
mu = 12th letter of greek alphabet

µ stands for:
Micro
amount of friction between two objects
etc...

Sounds like Meu or something.

So.

meu + ziq (zick) = music

So. µ-Ziq is music. It's catchy, but there aren't any
secret underlying codes or anything. I don't think. Just
cool wit and neat, appropriate name. Someone once said is it
music with flare. Like muzeeek. Or something. I dunno. I
haven't slept in a really really long time.
