They are okay, never really felt the urge to listen to their
albums more than a couple of times. Nothing wrong with it
for the most part though.

They were at Glastonbury 2003. I was really hung over or on
a come down or something, and the sun was blasting us with
some intense heat. I had a bottle of Captain Morgan's
watching Mogwai, just standing, kind of unable to stop
myself swaying about. They were absolutely incredible.
Exactly what was needed.

good music. i got the "Happy..." CD and it has got a nice,
warm sound with lots of "white noise" guitar riffs. some
good melodies also. my favourite is the track 4. they`re
much into slowly growing up, dense atmospheres, and deep
structures. recommended.

i like about 30/40% of their stuff, Sigor Ros and early Bark
Psychosis do that sound better though IMO

I like Mogwai. Their early stuff, like Kappa, is really
great, but Happy Songs has a pop sensibility that suits
their style. The Surgeon Remix of Fear Satan is one hell of
a droney monster, and the best off the Remix album.

To summarize; Mogwai is good.

What that bloke said. They're another of these very, very
derivative bands that water down the formula a bit and
become, by virtue of being picked up the NME and just
hanging about, famous by osmosis. Ten years down the line,
they've become legends with kids asking about buying their
"classic" fucking albums. What an arse of a world.

Although they have been around a lot longer than Sigur Ros

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to infer Sigur Ros were an
originator, but Bark Psychosis, as mentioned by Soundguy
definitely were. Check out their track "Scum" (from 1992)
for a defining slice of atmospheric build it up and knock it
down.

Yeah, Mogwai are one of the better post-rock bands. If you
like this stuff, try: Slint, Fugazi, GY!BE, Sigur Ros
(maybe)..

I'll check it out.

Their remix of Link's Arcadian is beautiful, its more like a
cover version than a remix.

I really wish they'd do another really sad extreme album
like Come On Die Young, however they probably wont because
theyd feel like they are treading water. I really don't like
the way each album is getting poppier. Still a fantastic
band though.

I've changed my tune a bit, I had a good listen to their
albums again. 'Tracy' from Young Team is absolutely
brilliant, especially the recorded phone call. 'Like Herod'
is fucking shite though.
