no idea it sounds totally devoid of any musical connotations to me, then again the chavs probably despise Trance and Acid.
ignorant sods

I have "Grime 2" off Rephlex records. It's very minimal. I do like the bass sounds and I could see how it would be nice enough at a club, but that's about it.

fair enough. I know Kano's cousin and by talking to him I;ve gathered that it's quite a nice music scene. Not really 'grimey' but more just another branch of the R&B industry. To be honest I prefer 'Crunch' music which is conmprised of production from the likes of Lil' Jon.

I like Grime, DJ Eastwood all the fucking way. I'd love a scenario where Westwood is carted from the Radio 1 studio's to be replaced by a Grime DJ, it would be much more relevant to the UK I reckon. I like Grime with really deep pitch shifted bass effects, it's kinda like dancehall but with more depth. MC Purple always has the best act. I don't know what to make of the Rephlex Grime, It's a bit under tempo but that don't matter cuz I've got it on vinyl. I have to say I didn't really like Grime 2 but that's just my personal preference. The Rephlex grime does a lot more without MC's, a lot of grime without MCing is just repetitive. But overall I think it's best served live nice and loud (but with the MC's mic not too loud).

For some reason I thought Team Shadetek is 'grime'? I like Burnerism.

Rephlex has just released two compilations of tracks by some of the most well known Grime producers. Slaughter Mob are pretty nice, in fact I like most of the stuff released on Hot Flush (inc Slaughter Mob). It is ideal driving music minus the mindless MCing, and it is excellent club music with it.

Have the fashionslag media gone off grime yet? Fucking hoxton-haired arseholes.
Anyway, there's a lot of mediocre stuff at both ends of the "scene" as it were, some of the more techy tracks can be hair-pullingly dull. All that overdriven, in-yer-face Terror Danjah-style stuff gets on my tits as well. Sweaty little grime nights are a lot of fun though, doesn't seem to carry the violent edge you get at a lot of hip hop clubs. And there's still some genius tunes out there.
