18 inches....

they're fucking annoying when its really really windy

blender.

My nxt door neighbour has them. I think they're silly and
cheap, their novelty wears off in about five minutes and
then become increasingly annoying.

You can 'mute' these- raise the striker...

They're enourmous... takes a pretty good wind to get them
going. In a steady wind the turbulence that the striker
generates starts them droning. Or a dog bark or hand clap
if its quiet enout.

put them on a second story gable and you can hear them all
over the yard.

In a neighboorhood I once lived in, there was this one alley
where litterally every apartment balcony had a windchime. It
was apartments down the whole block on both sides, so when
it was night, and you were walking down it, and if there was
even the slightest wind, it would make this really really
neat chiming effect.

It's disorienting because unless there is a storm outside,
you dont notice them 'warming' up. when you finally realize
you are hearing them and your brain tries to locate them in
space- I feel like I'm floating...
