what kind of lifesytle are you looking to/for?

i got a visit from a guy i used to work with today. he
decided to quit job some years ago and has been living in a
cabin in the woods since then. he occassionally helps his
wife who is a college proffesor with some work, but appart
from that he's mostly just walking in the woods, doing work
around the house and such and he doesn't miss the city one
bit apperantly. he appears to be real happy and he's a
really positive person...unlike most of the city folk..

anyway, i always wanted to move out of the city, at least
for a few days per week..just to calm my mind a bit.

i just want to be an ecological, ethical, but still trendy
city person with a good taste in 'marginal' music and
design. written down it sounds so shallow and pretentious.

well, i think that moving into woods is not a good idea for
a longer period. i presume he will be back to city in next
few years.

as for me, i just want to stay calm, have a house with
garden, little bit of free time to do nothing at evenings,
good job, and a fresh mind. nothing more, really. and i
started to make it real in some parts so yay for me.

I'd love to live in a cabin the woods. lead a simpler life.
However, I don't live in a city but a small village. This
means that I'd rather live in a city as country life is dull
as fuck. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are.
Or, you always want what you don't have. In your mind things
seem better than they actually would be.

it does, but what could you expect ? taste in design. jeez,
i though that desing is what you want things to look like,
not to follow others.

ideally; live off a tropical beach somewhere or travel
fround the world taking photos and selling them to pay my
way.

well, i spent most of my holidays when i was a kid at my
grandparents farm and i loved it..it's a very small country
we have here so even if i'd move to the countryside i can be
in the city in half an hour so that's ok :)

btw, i don't think that guy will come back to the city..he
even sold his appartment here.

by design here i meant all the things around me, i meant
that i want them to look nice (to me and others. everyone
wants to please others on some level. you can't deny that.)

others, really.

i'd like to be confident that tomorrow will be at least a
little bit less dull than the present day, and to be calm,
or safe - without everyday thinking about time and money,
and do something good and not useless. And yes I like
nature. Preferrably a place near a big river - it soothes
me.

yes, there are lots of things and I'm trying to use my time
on these things but not always successfully, shame.
Sometimes i get too tired at work to do something except
staring into some movie on PC or just sleep. Sometimes it's
just because of the laziness (i must admit). Sometimes it's
bad mood, maybe 'small depression'.
I'd like to spend more time with my friends but it's almost
impossible due to the loss of common interests, aging and
different job schedules.
This would be excellent - to see friends. Maybe the most
wanted thing for me now.

So long as I have a studio, motorbike and mates, and time to
see/do those things, I'm not fussed. Work etc. just falls
around that and is a means to funding it all.

i actually meant that as a serious question. how can you
have any friends or love life or anything if don't pay
attention to other people. that's the really close to the
definition of a sociopath :o i might be on the level of a 5
year old but at least i'm compassionate.

people i like a lot, but we don't have much in common so we
don't hang out a lot. appart from that i only know people
who are around when they get something out of it for
them..ahh

yes, this takes place here, too. Maybe this feature is
gained by people as they grow up, cause they were not like

how life with friends is enjoayble. i have as many friends
as many condoms i used in my life, and i dont need this
stupid discussions about "sense of life", or at least, not

I don't know what would best suit me or what I want, which
is why I'm in such a mess right now. I can't figure it out,
too many variables and things. Something solitary-ish, I
assume, I just don't have much interest in being part of
society. Cabin in the woods sounds nice, but there's so many
other things to consider.

why do you even bother coming in these threads? :)
we're not all as lucky as you are with our lifes perhaps, so
instead of going to shrinks we can talk about it here..
ofcourse there are always people like you who only make us
feel even worse about ourselfs..if you can honestly say
you're a happy person, well, then im happy for you! :)

matvey, dunno really, i don't have any contact with my old
mates so i don't know what they are like now..they were
alright few years ago, but we didn't have much common
interests and i was real busy at that time so i lost touch
with them..

Living in a megalopolis doesn't trouble me all that much...
The traffic, pollution, mass people, etc... is indeed
annoying.
But you can somehow avoid it all most of the time.

But when i reach my 40's... i'd like to move out on top of a
mountain, in a chalet in the nature... im very comfortable
with my own company.
And i think it would suit my charachter. but anywhere i
might end up living. Im always comfy... every place has
it's pros and cons.

I agree that as people get older, they are more inclined to
'drop' friends who they get nothing from. Seems reasonable
enough, why should you spend time with people you don't
like/who use you?

Modern cabininthewoods' have power and internets! And
actually I don't want a literal cabin, I just don't want a
house out there in plain view of all the other houses. A guy
across my street literally has a sort of fancy bungalow
surrounded by trees, I've always coveted that house. Broke
into it with my cousins when we were like 10 and nobody
lived there, ha.

I want something like that, within a stones throw of
everything I need from the modern world, but I'd still be
able to take out my garbage wearing nothing but a beret.
That would rock. Whenever I go out to visit family in the
country, I see lots of hidden houses like this, but
unfortunately I'm too wired to want to live out there.
