Reaktor 4/5 workshop

A on day event from 10h to 20h at the Mediaruimte in the
center of Brussels.

The aim is to join Instrument- and Sound designers in a cosy
international environment.

The workshop is given by Brian Smith - the NI Workshop
specialist - and Andreas Sumerauer - a Physical Modeling
specialist - to 16 participants.

The following topics will be explained in detail and are
then followed by practical exercises in order to get really
into it and to change the way you build your instruments.

Principles of Physical Modeling (Reaktor 4)

Using Steampipe I as example
- What are the Ideas behind it?
- How and why does it work?
- Understanding the principles of physical modelling:
synthesis will
enable us to modify and extend the existing design in an
experimental
manner. (comb filter, waveguide synthesis, exciter <>
resonator, ...)

Sequencing with Reaktor: Event Tables (Reaktor 4)

- Reinventing the step sequencer.
- Event table programming without glitches and its
synchronization.
Examples: A Step sequencer to drive the steampipe for synth
and Bass sounds or for your (grain) sample player.

Introduction to the Core: Steampipe II (Reaktor 5):

-The new core environment and its features.
-The signal flow paradigm is very different :
Conditional branching, No distinction between event and
audio, ...
- Custom tailored modules for special synthesis needs will
enable us to
create very distinct and unique synthesizers.
-Core macros

The main language of the workshop is English.
