Anyone take part in this fun activity? I do. It's my summertime exercise along with running. I usually go at night with my discman for about an hour.
A lot of people think rollerblading is something only gay people do, but alas I'm not.
While I'm on the topic, here are some other gay things I enjoy:
-Fruit Smoothies -Nice Scents (Bodywash, Candles, etc) -Dance Music -Cleaning
Here are the rollerblades I have. Mission D3C's. I bought hard outdoor wheels since they came with indoor wheels which only lasted about a month. I've also bought Swiss Bearings (ABEC 7) since the ones that came with the skates have gone to crap as well. Partially my fault though. Skating through pebble and gravel infested places and in the rain for a bit.

I am debating getting a pair of rollerblades to get to work this summer. Which brand should I get? I hate walking in to stores so I'll probably just get some shit on line.. hopefully they fit..

rollerblading across a bridge is the best feeling in the world! The river breeze in your hair, the sun bouncing of the water's surface, the slight hum as you reach high speeds, the g forces as you reach the corner ahhh!.

I used to skate. Got through 2 pairs of old quads as a kid, then some non-descript inlines once I managed to put a hole in the quads, then finally in my early teens got some roces rome blades and tricked them up to near roces 'street' level (brass bearing spacers, metal rocker washer, sonic grind plates) good thing I did- the nylon parts were really mashed up by the time I replaced them.
I wasn't good by any means (gash on halfpipes), but could grind reasonably well/long distances as well as use ramps, funboxes etc.
My hometown's skating hero, Richard Taylor (UK champ, great skater and nice bloke) coofed it earlier this year as a result of skating related injury. Ironically, he hit a lampost at 25mph, just doing a bit of downhilling. Seems funny he'd go out like that when you consider you'd usually see him jumping backwards down flights of stairs etc.

I really miss rollerblading! Just to get around, really, nothing ''extreme'' as the kids say today. I used to 'blade everywhere around town, and at the time I'd take my walkman. This was a long time ago and only really rich kids had a discman.
It's still appealing to me, but I don't do it. This topic brings up some good mammories.

i took rollerblading seriously from 8-10 grade. aggressive style. i had a pair of k2 backyards and later rollerblade dirks. gave it up and went back to skateboarding.
now i'm a lazy college graduate who doesn't do much of anything except sit infront of the computer. funny thing is, i work for a company called dircks.
