What is everyones favourite track off this album?

Mine is Cichli with Cipater a close second.

Cipater is bloody amazing. I love the way it switches half
way through, and the final section is stunning. A definate
fave.

I reckon Chiastic Slide is my favorite Ae album. The
atmosphere is organic and powerful, the melodies are
surprisingly catchy, and the beat work is crunchy and
complex but not as central to the overall concept as it is
in later albums (like Draft.)

Tewe

Chiastic Slide is probably my favourite Autechre too

Yep, Tewe is another wonderful track. I can't explain what
it has that their newer glitchy workouts don't. I think it's
just that it's a bit more strict in its structure and has
that nice melodic element bubbling in and out.

choose an ultimate fave

chiastic is fantastic. and it's a bit of a weird one, imo.
in retrospect all of the albums seem like a logical
progression from their precursors. except in the case of
chiastic. from tri rep to lp5, chiastic seems like an odd
duck.

could easily get it on vinyl.

chiastic slide is when autechre was on the cutting edge of
sound design. LP5 is fantastic but i felt like the FM
sounds which were already familiar to my ears was a step
back in sound design originality.

I still think this is one of their most difficult records
and I kind of enjoy it more by just thinking about it than
actually listening to it. However, the two ep's related to
Chiastic Slide - Envane and Cichlisuite - is perhaps the two
autechre records I enjoy the most.

For some strange unknown reason Chiastic Slide is the
Autechre record I have the most copies of. I think I have
four or five scattered around my record collection. On a
close second is EP7. I have at least three copies of that
one and that is my fave Ae work ever!

tewe/cipater/recury. least favorite:
calbruc and pule for too repetitive.
