i liked them when i verry firrst saw them on jools holland, but they werre better on therre than on CD which lacked about half of the rraw powerr. i bet they'rre good at a small gig. |

They're one of those bands that i've mentally lumped in with dreary indie bollocks, without even hearing any of their stuff. I know it's a terrible habit, but even if i tried to make up for it and asked for recommendations, i still wouldn't seek them out because deep down i'm always going to hate them. |

I was exactly the same, they seem somewhat style over substance. I saw them at a fest a couple of years ago though, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. They are actually pretty different from the whole strokes sound, kinda space-rock/shoegaze moments. Really fucking loud rockouts. I wouldn't buy their stuff but I'd probably see them again for the show, which is extremely loud, btw. |

i have a tendency to pin them as just...rock 'n roll. minimal bullshit, they just play fuckin' good rock 'n roll. deep, growling guitar riffs, and...i dunno. i'm the worst at explaining stuff. but i think it's a shame their following in the u.s. is very nearly nil. they're rather big in the UK from what i hear, but. *shrugs* |
