I know there was a thread but i cant really even be
bothered trying to find it at a time like this.

I've been up since 7am or perhaps earlier. I couldnt sleep
anymore.

My tummy feels ick. I am way out of it and my usual trick of
acid reducer + water doesnt seem to be making that much of a
difference.

Does anyone here have any old school tricks? This would
include "not eating" as it will probaby take hours to get
there

I have this problem. When i drink the night beforei wake up
because my heart is pounding. It is pounding so hard that i
feel it through my back and into my bed. Thats what woke me
up.

I was good at first but it got progressively worse.

I almost got ill while typing that last sentence. and this
one.

:/

I wanna go straight edge, Lord willing

Poor boy.

I always get bad hangovers, luckily not the kind where you
spend most of the day in the toilet looking down the basin,
but the kind where your body just isn't working and a brutal
headache. I've never found a cure for it, but camping in
front of the telly with a glass of water usually takes my
mind off the poor state I'm in.

My hangover have gotten progressively worse as I've gotten
older. If I get really drunk sometimes the hangover will
last two or three days.

It's just not worth it anymore.

Have you tried those RU21 pills? I was skeptical but the one
time I tried them my hangover was very very mild when it
shouldn't have been.

Yes!

Surprisingly those things do seem to work. I don't know if
it's a placebo or not, though.

Similar. You should have seen me when i woke up after
drinking when i was on Perkiset for my mouth.

My mom almost took me to the ER

---------

Skink: normally that is a good idea. not today

I feel that epohs is right. just not worth it anymore

Hahaha!

It may be because I don't drink nearly as often as I used
to. But, whatever it is it sucks bad.

Plus, my hangovers are more mental than anything else
nowadays. Like, I'm just all foggy and borderline depressed
and, if it's really bad, i'll sort start panic attacking.

Lame.

I think it depends on the water. I've had the same
experience where I got sick immediately after a glass of
water. Terrible. Now I have no problems with it. I find milk
to be an excellent way of hydrating yourself if water
doesn't do the trick, especially right after you've woken
up.

gatorade is my hangover-rehydrator of choice.

Yeah. thats a real cool trick.

Start sipping on the first bottle and you can usually chug
the second.

I mean one of those big 32oz

Yea I'm convinced the time I tried wasn't a placebo effect,
I felt mentally better - like not as drained. It makes sense
really, I guess it gives you back all the vitimins etc that
you obliterate with alcohol.

Gatorade is tops also! And of course the several glasses of
water pre-bed is a must for headache prevention

yeah, i had a big get together last year at the beach, and i
drank like i was still in college. that would normally kill
me now, but somebody had some of those pills and my
hangovers were always completely managable.

i was very impressed. probably made the trip 75% more
enjoyable.

Will do.

Hopefully i can just give it up 100%

I have a bit of a drinking problem and now that i got this
new Job I want to mature a bit and not act as my
selfdestructive self.

Self destruction as in the amount of drinking and how often
it occurs. I was sober for a week though until friday. It
felt great. I feel a bit though but i hope to hop back on
the wagon.

Then again if XLT2006 is actually going to happen then i
will be forced to attempt to drink members under the table.

hahah!

I usually take 1 acid reducer and 2 advil before bed if
drinking. That way i can avoid feeling sick and avoid a
headache.

The key is to drink about a pint of water before you go to
sleep.

That is what i try to do.

Good luck mate, I'm sure you'll be alright. :)

Also you might wanna look into a multivitamin or something
if you're feeling run down regularly, you never know it
might help. I've jsut started taking a B vitamin complex and
my urine is so fluorescent you wouldn't believe, seriously.

Thanks! :)

Its pretty mucht the heart thing that worries me.

Did the vitamin b give you better results as opposed to
feeling run down? I know B assists in Lucid dreaming if my
memory serves correct. And if i am then too much can cause
some sort of brain damage

gatorade, pedialite (that stuff you give to kids when they
have diarrhea), coffee.

offline clint from Silencio... (United Kingdom) on 2005-05-08 09:52 [#01591609]

I'm taking it for general fatigue/lack of concentration and
stuff, but only started yesterday so I can't comment on how
effective it is yet, sorry. Interesting about the lucid
dreaming thing, just checked it out, seems like its the B6
that aids that.

Yeah pedialite can work real good getting you back in order.
I mainly prefer the Gatorade because of the flavor options.

Clint: yeah the B6 sounds about right. Let me know how the
vitamins work for you. Sounds like something i would be
interested in trying

When you have a really bad hangover, there's a trick to get
over it. Try drinking warm (body temperature) water with
salt. Your stomach won't react on the warm water and the
salt will help to keep the fluid in your body. It sucks
drinking it, but it works for me anyway. Otherwise, sleeping
out of it is another way, but less effective.
