it's not as bad as i originally thought it would be. i've
only listened to it fully once though.

is it just me, or is he talking directly to his audience in
several tracks?

follow his commands.

"Awitha teetha!"

Hilarious! I think for the most part the album is awful. I
especially hate the first track--that horrible trance-like
beat that comes in about halfway through just before Trent
goes all falsetto and sings, "Why do you get al the love in
the world??"

I love the last track and there are maybe 2 more tracks that
I like--I wrote them down but lost the list :( But Im not as
pleased with the album as I thought I was going to be.
Especially since Trent has taken so long to work on it. ;(

;(

cheer up - he spent very little time on this music. maybe
six months or so. and it shows because it's awful. it's
the worst music he's ever written by far and i am including
the last few tracks on pretty hate machine.

wtf is that song with the low guitars and then it randomly
goes into an over-the-top piano interlude? that's just
lousy songwriting. i might be able to appreciate that sort
of swill if i watched nothing but mtv 24 hours a day and had
no attention span whatsoever.

ps - fuck rick rubin. he sucks and ruins the work of all
the bands i like.

hahahaha pretty hate machine is actually my favorite NIN
album, but I have trouble listening to those last few
tracks. I actually think I hate Ringfinger.

haha. that's fantastic. was it anybody's avatar?

actually the two tracks i heard first were 'every day is
exactly the same', and ''all the love in the world'.
listening to the tracks now in between that aren't quite as
good; i've skipped through two halfway though.

go figure. still, it ain't bad.

it's not bad. i don't exactly enjoy the end of "all the love
in the world", it pretty much just ruins the song. haven't
gone through it with much attention yet, but overall not as
bad as i thought.

listening to broken on the way to work made me cry.
mentally. mental tears.

hahahah forck, I think I am going to skip my existentialism
class to watch your avatar. o_o

yes, mr. Shope.. he is writing you a note on a little piece
of paper and he hopes you will find it someday, you know
what -he'll hide it for you behind something they won't
look.. behind.

your porn dvd collection might be a good place to start.

i mean, who's he talking to in the hand that
feeds
?

i kinda got the initial impression that he's scolding his
audience for being critical of him...

::shrug::

He's biting... the hand.... that feeds him.... which, as
everyone knows, is a questionable strategy.

I'm glad it's not called whatever it was going to be called
one or two years ago. Blood blot or something?

I haven't really put any elbow grease into listening to it,
but it seems good so far. *fist pump

I gotta say that it's growing on me big time. I got actual
goosebumps when I heard the effect shift in "home" @ 1:16.

I must also mention some of the percussion and bass lines in
"love is not enough" too. A kind of engineered power that I
haven't felt since I heard No-u-turns TORQUE album,
brilliant stuff indeed. *****

i should elaborate. i like it, having listened to it 4
times or so on headphones, but i haven't really paid any
attention to the actual lyrics. not that i ever actually
pay much attention to anyone's lyrics!

better to avoid doing so with the Reznor.

imo, his vocals are relatively terrible on the biting song.
and i heard a live performance of it and it was much much
worse.

well, i'll reiterate by saying, i like the vocal sound, i'm
just ignorant to the vocal meaning or content, assuming
there is some meaning to behold!

"all the love in the world" is my favourite track...
