Picked this up the other day. Aside from being a good game,
it has a great soundtracks. As well as Hip Hop, Dub, Drum
and Bass, there's a lot of old style techno/detroit on
there; Underground Resistance, Suburban Knight, etc.

Aren't moving shadow artists doing the dnb like they did for
gta3?? I think I read that somewhere. should be good.

Yes, from movingshadow.com
"
... STOP PRESS ...

Look out for plenty of Moving Shadow tunes gracing the
latest version on Rockstar Games' Midnight Club 3 and Grand
Theft Auto PSP! More details on all that in the next edition
of the news :-)

is this that game in the arcade where kids dance around on a
lit up version of the power pad?

Yep, Calyx, Dom & Roland and Aquasky are in it. Not just one
or two tracks either, probably about a dozen in total.

Epohs, No you're thinking of Dance Dance Revolution.
This is a street racing game.

Aesthetics Yes, much better than 2 (which I also
liked). Real world car/bike/aftermarket parts manufacturers,
much better handling (particularly the bikes), faster,
better graphics etc. It's on xbox and PS2 at the moment, PSP
release at some point in the future.

Theres a new calyx album out in a week or so I beleive.
Dunno if you like his recent stuff like that ep thing on
metalheadz. quite good 2X12" . i still prefer the older
stuff when calyx was a duo, like the earlier audio couture
stuff. some of the calyx vs dom remix things are nice hard
dnb though, if that floats ya boat.
rockstar games always seem to get decent people to do the
music, even if they made an okish game, you know the music
would be spot on. No one else comes close.

Yep, really good track choices and their in house musicians
are very good too (although they don't seem to be used in
this one). They said that for MC3, they picked 1000 of their
favourite tracks in the appropriate genres and then whittled
this down to the 80 that fitted the game best.

On the subject of the game, despite the real world cities &
cars, this is very arcadey- there is damage, but you can
drive on 2 wheels, powerslide like mad, etc. a great fun
game, but not a simulation like Gran Turismo/Project
Gotham.

thats good, if i want realism, I'll hop in the car and go
for a drive to the shops.
