...My Top 5 would probably be

1 Warp
2 Fax
3 Rephlex
4 Rising High
5 Ninja Tune

...can anyone recommend me some other great labels to widen
my electronicicity? :-)

What would your Top 5 Skam releases be? I've got one or two,
but I'm not "into" it as I am the five I listed...

But is it art? :-)

Hmmm, not too sure about number 5 though...I've heard a fair
bit of Bentley Rhythm Ace and I'm not too keen...I can do a
bit of Fatboy every now and again...how would you compare
the other two to each of them?

check their mp3 catalogue. I'd recommend
kotra - acute, Tirriddiliu - deliranti in circostanze astratte, zavoloka - suspenzia

i'd buy the "skampler" cd first. it's actually a very good
compilation and introduction to skam. some of the tracks are
quite old by now, but still very good.

otherwise, i would definately recommend anything by bola and
quinoline yellow.

one of my favorite skam releases is the meam cd. it's short,
weird but incredible.

there are a few artists out there trying to do 'indian
style' music, but IMO indian ropeman blows them all out of
the water, his songs are perfect for playing in the car coz
they rock so much, and can be emotional at times too...

sparky lightbourne is underrated but very funky at times,
d/l 'get your hands off me' its one of his better
tracks...martin is one of the few artists i like that has
vocals in his tracks...

btw REQ used to be on skint till he moved to warp... be
warned though, skint hasnt released a good record since
1999, since then it has turned into another housey label...

I've actually already got Skampler and the first edition of
Soup :-) but not too much more...I hadn't heard of the other
one you mentioned...is it solo or group?

It's quite hip-hoppy yeah, the beats are a tad more "normal"
than much other electronica...

I shall have to check out that Ropeman bloke then...

I may well invest in something from Warpmart when I've got
more time then...

Couple of points to note...why recommend something that's
limited? That means I'll worry about how soon I have to buy
it! ;-)

Also, one Yellow track is called Spion Kop...do you know if
that's a reference to the home of football? (Anfield) :-)

The album with the colourful cover...it just doesn't do it
for me...bit too cheesy in your face kinda thing...not
emotional enough or sumink...dunno how else to put
it...let's face it, it doesn't compare to Aphex or BOC or
Namlook or...etc. etc.

them instead of buying from warpmart... ;)

i'd recommend sony, universal and warner brothers. its kinda
underground, but their records are really easy to find if
you just try hard enough... they release all kinds of music
too..
