i'm guessing 50% of the music made by the people on this MB
is made on software that has not been payed for!

i've made music for about 7 years on hardware that i've paid
a LOT of money for! sequenser, sampler, mic, recorder etc.

Some of us use hardware and software.

I find hardware to be less than worth collecting, because
generally, you can get just as good if not a better sound
from, say, a vst plugin with a couple effects than a
hardware synth with built in effects.

Although I have paid a couple thousand dollars for my music
setup, so its not like I am going at it cheaply. I get my
condenser microphone, bass guitar and mixer next. Then its a
Micron.

and even then - what is your point?

that this happens? well, I never would've guessed!

i've always believed in art through struggle. the more
limitations you have the more creative you have to be. but i
have in my oppinion come to an barrier with my hardware
sequenser, and so the next step is software.

okay.

I would say 50% is relatively low, I'd say it's more.

i guess what i'm asking is how you've gotten hand on you're
software; have you gotten it from friends, downloaded
(crime), or paid for the software?

I've used (crime) for the programs I use.
