"i think you are missing the whole fact that it is not a
parody. at least not as far as i can tell."

Of course its a parady. This is my point exactly. You WANT
to believe its real because it is another dig on the old U S
of A!

Fuck we are all mental! What culture isnt? but please do
not think the actions of our goverment or the drivel of our
popular culture as being emblematic of the people as a
whole.

Who here isnt outside the mainstream of their respective
culture/government?

sure the usa has a culture. as it was already pointed out.
jazz may have been made by african immigrants / slave, but
by africans IN AMERICA. and it wouldnt have been possible
anywhere else.
then there's the whole lifestyle "american dream" /
individuality thing.
claiming america had no culture is just plain stupid.

very well and the video did seem very serious i couldnt tell
the sarcasm. its complex

sir, i think you are overestimating the average american
people.
especially the christians.
what makes you think its a parody?
people are having the same discussian here
i hope you are joking.
this is the singers website here
apparently this is the director

what makes you think its not a serious thing?

I heard that! Let's let weed be the universal ambassador to
all cultures!

Im off to poop and dinner where I will doubtlessly indulge
in too many cocktail, become my old beligerant self and log
on and insult some more folks here.

I am american after all. Our rudeness is legendary as is
our fine Kentucky home-grown.

Jah rastafari!

I think you'll find no one is doing that here.
I have plenty of american relatives, friends etc....i love
chris ware, old school hip hop, nina simone, alice coltrane,
plenty of american film directors, the list is endless...i
even have a pair of shoes with the name of a cleveland
basketball player on! (shame on me btw)

think people deny america has culture of course it does but
the majority of its culture is built on the foundations of
much olde3r cultures that never get such recognition and
thats peoples beef. i think

i think it's te big, bold american tourists who give America
a bad name too. especially with comments such as:
"england? is that somewhere near london"
or anything other such "? is that somewhere near
" statement.

hm, yeah. that might be a point.

the american constitution was developed by french and
english philosophers.
the music is a result of different cultures' musics
merging.
but then again there's something unique about american
culture in the whole. whatever.

Of course there is, it's inevitable.

I can see this Irish american is going to have to hurry up
and get drunk in order to compete further in this thread.

Cheers!

it was almost the exact same conversation.. I remember
actively screaming in that one.

We're no longer screaming.

We're drinking and smoking weed raving about what great
chaps we all really are.

nah- I prefer a good argument, but most Europeans are too
elitist about Americans to actually consider a yank has
somthing to say.

and the weed and vodka has finally subduded my coffee high
of earlier today.

I can't even be bothered to give you examples as to why you
are being paranoid again.

I'm sorry.

Being an American, I find it exceedingly difficult to feel
accepted in mixed company.
