Ladies and Gentlemen, this week protagonist of poll are not
Analords, Autechre Untilted, etc... but will be our loved
Xltronic discography. What do you think... do you like it or
not?

click here, vote and get your 5 pts

"discogs" option. :)

How can you vote on something thats unfinished? That is like
judging an artists work before he is completed.

The argument could be that a discography never really
"finishes"?

The xlt discography is piss poor in all ways.

it's good practice in programming but it's not as advanced
as discogs is. if there is a goal to have the xlt discog,
then it should be winning against discogs com in something.

everybody understands everything already.

wooferattack - this is easily the best poll of the last five
or six polls. this is a good poll question. nice work.

woofer how can you make polls if your not a mod? is it one
of the perks of registering, or is it something special
about you?

good but should really be improved.

those three artist/alias/label boxes aren't practical at all
(not only they're not big enough but one might be confused
and search "Aphex Twin" in artist for example). also there's
no search function, and you can have to browse through all
the pages to find the release you want on the artist page
(especially if you don't know the release date). (and is the
rarity level ever something else than 'hell yes' or 'not at
all'?)

its great, I use it a lot

I would like thought that people could participate, so it
would grow faster

[2] I give up hope

I 'nagged' a lot about it and I'm starting to regret that, I
also offered some help to get it more complete but there was
no help needed

I know it's a hell of a job and I don't want to nag again
but besides privileged releases like Ae - Untilted(even tho
it is still unreleased) and Afx - Analord there is not much
progression
Bola - Gnayse is still not in the discogs...how much time
does it need to put it up there? it just seems to me that
some releases/artist just aren't important enough to get in
the discogs when they are released

besides the progression part, I like it a lot because there
is a lot of info/samples

it certainly is true that the artists that are updated
regularly are pretty much the artists the mods like -
phoenecia for example only consists of their Warp E.P.

yeah it's great, you can see the whole artwork of some
records on it ; but where do the marks out of 5 come from ?

you can click on individual tracks and then vote 1 to 5.

the total number is then calculated out of those votes.

it's not the most efficient system, especially since you
need to have to go backwards in your browser a lot to vote
for all the tracks.

Yes a lot of artists seem to have just their warp releases
on there, or what was on warpmart at the time. Ultradyne and
drexciya come to mind for example. Alot of great artists
aren't even on there. I like how for some there's just a
name.

Thing is it's just never updated, or hardly. It's just been
sitting there.

good point about the voting.

perhaps there should be drag-down menus (whatever they're
called) next to each song that automatically submits the
vote and refreshes the page. or, a simple html scale or
something and a button at the bottom that submits all the
votes simultaneously.

moderator is a thing, official poll maker is another thing
and there isn't connection between these.

xltdiscography does have the advantage of being able to
discuss the release...and usually has more then 1 pic of the
release...
