ok, well can-o-worms it goes... to make a long story short here it goes - i took ae's last three lps out of my collection (the last being the mp3s promo of until..) and i listened to them just to get a feel for them and just because i started a new job and autechre really soothes me and i began to notice some geometric structures in the beats
confield - has triangular or conic beats -the delay in the beat and then a hard hit at the peak and then it falls - most tracks have them but tracks 1,6 and 9 really show this -
cone field parhelic triangle
draft 7.30 - has a square or spherical beats - the delay is still present but instead of a hard hit or point in confield its more of a thud or muffled thud track 1 shows this the best -a draft is what architects sometimes call the blue prints of the design, which the map out in space or 3d
xylin room v-proc - v for vertical maybe?
untilted - has a circular or cubical beats - the delay comes in fast, rises and falls quickly without changing direction - tracks 1-3 show this the best - a circle has no points or peaks or changes of direction on it. i have not idea how tilt works with this circlular shape, maybe a circle can be said to have no tilts in it?
pro radii - pl of radius the trees - listed very carefully to this track- it sounds like a circular scribled pattern is being contructed- resembling a tree top or something
i may just have too must time on my hands - and again this is what i saw and you might have gotten a totally different experience with the albums or whatever, but just thought i would share.

1) maybe it's an influence of these titles - confield, p. triangle...
2) v really stands for "u" according to that page with autechre titles meanings, where the track was said to be previosly called up-rock, so there is a feel of vertical, indeed..
3) dunno what to say about until t e d cause i'm not sure i heard it.

leave morons be; it's fun watching them trip over themselves and receive fatal injuries performing simply daily tasks.

over-analysing autechre can kill the effect of the music.

I know.. it's sad... it has to mean stuff and it seems to be "better if fewer people like it." I've said it before and I'll repeat it, but I won't get into the discussion again, 'cause then lots of angryness will spread; music is emotion not math. The metaphorical heart (music) vs the brain (logic).
