This, along with Makesaracket, is a fucking waste of money
and ear time and both just say to any remaining Mike P fans
"I hate you kids, why don't you spend your pocket money on
some wank I churned out inbetween having a domestic with my
stroppy, hatchet faced wife"

Wait... are you implying you don't like Mike P?

Well i liked Tango n'Vectif, but even some tracks on that
pushed your patience. Then they released the expanded
version... I think he's an RDJ copyist who does have talent
but lacks quality control and just releases any old keyboard
meandering. Plus he ¡s a humorless troll despite playing up
the comedy IDM card to excuse his excesses.

There is something in what you say. At first it did seem
like he was just doing re-hashes of Aphex material, and
occasionally thereafter (Full Sunken Breaks for instance).
But he's done much that easily stands up in it's own right.

...In Pine Effect is great however much it smacks of I Care
Because You Do and I still say that his Auteurs remix
album/ep things is his best work to date. And Spatula Freak
is interestingly unique.

In fact I remember reading an interview with Aphex in the
early days where he basically said that Mike P was this guy
who hung around like a fanboy doing cheesy versions of Aphex
material. Who knows how much of that is hypebole though. I
choose not to worry about it being either true or false.

Mike P does seem to be an immitator rather than an
innovator. There is some of his material I like but most of
it I don't. I like Bilious Paths and I like his taste in
music to release via Mu.

I like his Auteurs remix album too, as i like the Auteurs
and i think he did them a service. But, by and large,
wank.

Good point. A lot of the µ signings are really good.
