here comes a really stupid question from a newbie for
experienced mac users...

im just thinking about buying powerbook, solely for the
music production...so im just wondering, there isnt a single
information on apple website and all the other websites
about the soundcard that is built into these
configurations...

so please tell me is that sound card any good, or i need to
buy some external one?

and are those artists that are using their powerbooks to
play live using the integrated sound card, or they all have
an external one?

thanks

If you buy the 17" PowerBook you´ll get the internal 24bit
96khz soundcard... (with combined analogue & digital I/O)

All the PowerBook internal soundcards sounds nice - no
niagara fall in the background at all... :)

so basically you can do all the production and live duties
with that card,right
but if you want to do some proffesional recording then its
recommended to get some better one?

Id say youd be fine using the built in one, if you dont have
money to for an audio interface, but if you got some extra
cash, Id reccomend getting one.

the built in soundcard on every powerbook i've owned has
beat the pants off every sub-$1000 card i've had in my PC.

i cannot distinct the difference between my mate's pro tools
rig, and my powerbook playing non-compressed audio - these
are on sennheiser headphones, so you really do notice
differences in clarity.
