Hello everyone,
So this will serve as the "official announcement" of
Gridlock's closure.

First off, I want to thank everyone I've had the opportunity
to meet and interact with as a result of Gridlock's music.
Hopefully we will meet again and also stay in touch. And
thank you to all those who have participated in this forum
and expressed such kind words about Gridlock's music over
the years. It was awesome to hear from people who connected
with the music as much as I did.

At this point there is too much separation, and different
projects going in different directions (music and
otherwise), and while noone ever wants to say "never" right
now I can't forsee a time when I will be working with Cadoo
again, so it's time to call it a day.

With that, and for those interested, I've written a personal
retrospective (http://www.5-25.com/gridlock/retro.html)
looking-back over the releases and the years. I will add
pictures as I can find them. There have always been many
requests for what gear has been in my studio for the
Gridlock releases, so I'll finally list the studio
components / per release / as my studio grew, and reached
its peak as "the Mothership" during "Formless".

This year marks the "official release" 10-year mark for
Gridlock, starting from the 95 demo "Sickness". I've
considered going through a box of DAT's and compiling a
web-only release of un-released tracks, demo versions, and
other nonesense. If anyone's interested, please let me
know.

The "gridlock@creative.net" address will be shut down in the
near future. Any questions regarding Gridlock (past or
future) should be sent to "gridlock@5-25.com".

The Gridlock site has been moved to
http://www.5-25.com/gridlock, and the forum can stay up as
long as it's relevant.

Moving forward, I will continue the Gridlock ideology
through 02, which is now at http://www.5-25.com/02. Current
projects underway are remixes for Tekniq, Pneumatic Detach,
Ginormous, and Riotfish, as well as a new 02 release later
this year, label tbd.

Cadoo can be reached at http://www.n5md.com for information
regarding Dryft or Bitcrush.

I wish the best for everyone, their projects, pursuits, and
dreams.
Gridlock achieved many of mine.

All the best,
Mike Wells

that's one big =(

Still, they will be making music. What I've heard of Dryft
is quite good. Havn't heard Bitcrush or O2, though.

asjbfoo, so you are aware Mike Cadoo
won't be working under the DRYFT moniker..
Future work will continue as BITCRUSH.
Check bitcrush.net for more.

Erronous, you can find the BITCRUSH album
(Enarc) at Component Records' website.
Click here for a direct link..

It's said to hear about the demise of
Gridlock, but no need to worry.. each
of the Mike's has a lot going on with
other projects..

I forgot to mention that BITCRUSH's
follow-up album, 'Shimmer & Fade'
can be found at enpeg.com for $2!
(The last track on 'Enarc' called
"Saturday's Ghost" closely represents
the path Mike has taken with his enpeg
release.)

Click here for a direct link..
