so this track is being played at warp page... does this
clarify anything abou the leaks?

were they real after all?

I never listened to them

fermium sounds nice, but nothing new

i think it's safe to say leak one is real

leak two was some tripe conjured up by some internet tits
using two tracks from leak one and the rest of their tracks
were filled with their own personal crappy music

Yes Leak 1 was real me amigo. As one reviewer put it...

"La norma entró en completa vigencia en 1995 y exige que
millones de agricultores, aplicadores de pesticidas y
trabajadores de fincas sean educados acerca de los efectos
que la exposición a los pesticidas puede provocar en la
salud. Esta norma también exige la necesidad de buscar
tratamiento médico para tales efectos. A su vez, se espera
que se cree una demanda adicional de servicios por parte de
los proveedores de servicios para la salud. Untilted es una
puta."

that video is quite interesting... just made me think about
something that could quite debunk AE's approach. It's funny
how much we project into the listening experience. In a
composition as generated c/o this vid, one could approx.
resynthesize these samples, and have an elaborate DSP driven
piece.

Its like the brain competeing with itself... hmmmmm.......

dear flouresent gray (sp),
i dont know if i speak for everyone who knows and has
heard leak 2, but i believe the creeper has a point in
saying that you tried to pass your work off as autechres.
now your tracks are what they are - i think they were pretty
good, but that does not mean it was ok to pass them off as
someone elses - to define it as a hoax, kind clouds that
fact. but you did admit to it so i digress. well, i will
let the music speak for itself.

keep on keeping on,

I understand no matter what I say now it will look as though
I am only typing it because I know it isn't autechre, but I
honestly can't understand how anyone could have thought this
was ae. It's OK and everything but it it sounds nothing
like them. OK you have 'similar' sounding effects and stuff
but its a totally different feeling to anything they have
done.

I'm not really into it in general. The only thing that
draws me to Autechres music is the feeling it provokes, your
stuff sounds a little sterile. It does seem as though you
have a bit of a fan base growing purely through your hoax
though which is good :)

well lets see, warp called the new one warp180
so who is to say the ae boys just didnt up and go crazy and
release something totally different
also you used two tracks from untilted promo
also you renamed your stuff with the exact same track
titles

and lastly - it was pretty good.
so its a stretch but who can really say? now once leak you
compare to the two leaks thats where you can say "ok leak
one is definetly legit, and leak 2 is the faker"

but i heard leak 2 first. only after hearing leak 1 did i
switch.

Cool. That video is very nice to watch listen. It's
actually pretty instructive about how the music I listen to
could be made. I always assumed those rough, crackly sounds
I like so much to hear were made in the computer, but
clearly nature has enough examples to sample from. And here
I thought idm was mostly disconnected from nature and the
physical/tangible.

have you seen Coldcut's "natural rythm" ?
If not i would highly recommend it. It's a very similar
concept/approach to my vid

thaks for the kind words. I wish i could compress the video
to look higher quality and post it here. Uncompressed its
1.5 gigs and is 640x480 full fidelity.

I wish i knew the black art of Star wars episode 1 - 3
trailer extremely high quality quicktime compression.

i never downloaded your music. i never downloaded 'leak 2'

i listened to some of your tracks from your awfully designed
website after you had come out and said they were fakes you
made. the music wasn't very good. sorry if the truth hurts.

since their were two seperate leaks i didn't bother at all
because obviously, one of them has to be fake. once you came
out to claim your fame i gave the first leak a listen.

admit it. you're a tit.

i kind of liked some of the tracks on leak 2 but it just
isnt cool to try and pass yourself off as another artist.
people may well hear your work masquerading as autechre and
decide they dont like autechre just because they dont like
your stuff. i hope warp find and punish you with their
flying monkeys

anyway i have what im pretty sure is a genuine cd promo and
it rocks, i'd say fermium is the weakest track on it (its
the same as one on warp website). augmatic disport and iera
are well jackson.

I think some of you might just be rightfully pissed because
either you,
a.) weren't smart enough or quick enough to think of this
your self, or,
b.) lacked the talent to do so.

Ease off the guy, it made that month (and the anticipation
of the album) all the more desirable. I'm sure autechre
themselves probably caught wind of the situation and were
grinning ear to ear. Shit, you think when the merry
prankster himself, Aphex was running around pulling
bullshit, he didn't have a group of pussies whining about
his antics. Don't get me wrong, I'm only drawing a
singlular comparison here, but chances are you guys bitch
about Fluorescent Grey, then sing the praises for the goofy
shit RDJ has pulled in the past. Get over it, its teh
internets, and this is what makes IDM fun.

As for recognizing the real, I can't really say unless I
know them personally. Ppl change. One's aesthetics and
standards can change. Viewpoints as well. Even the closet
ppl can't really predict.

As sean said before, most brillant artists peaked and then
lost it. He said they will become better and better.

can't really tell what their music will be like as dads and
moms.

To me, it seems the vibe is more straight-forward, less
edged, beatwise more upbeat etc. while uk's is deeper/darker
and more intriguing.

americans <- financially better-off kids.

Just my impression, so don't blame me. :)
