Random factoid: My old art teacher, Mr White, was commissioned to draw the original characters by a local businessman called Jim Driscoll who paid him about £100 for them. Driscoll subsequently sold the concept to ITV television for a six figure sum. Mr White took time off work to 'gather his thoughts' (I think he was more than a little depressed to have been so ripped off). However, he recovered his composure to the point where he returned to work and carried on teaching art. I last saw Mr White at Atomic Jam (rave) about 10 years ago. He seemed happier then. :) Jim Driscoll meanwhile still to this day looks like Jeremy Beadle and has some of the most ridiculous looking dogs (huge poodles) that I have ever seen (I spotted him in Ireland last summer boarding a ferry with them). He's the one on the left. Jesus I am dull. |
