Any comments on this? Any fans of his around these parts?

His new single (So Cold?) is great. I liked his previous
work, so I'll probably get a copy of this.

Good bloke, very talented and seems like a good laugh.

Too Cold is the name, that's one of the stronger ones in my
view, but I'm partial to Mind 2 Motion and Rebel Heart among
many others, only one or two weak ones on there, plus a few
nods to his previous work, which I always like in my
music...the most obvious are Mind 2 Motion and Chin High,
but there are others...

He's certainly got a nice line in lyrics, one that jumps out
on this disc for me is something like "I ain't a pimp but
I'm still pimp-strutting" and of course on the opener
there's the immortal "Mind 2 motion, swing your pants, mind
2 motion, swing your skirt"

Qualiteeee :-)

S'alright i suppose, but it kind of souds a bit flat or
overproduced or something, at least to my ears. There's a
few demo tracks on the double-disc edition that absolutely
shit on the album versions, i think his flow suits that kind
of rough production much better.

Agreed about the extra disc, but the ones I reckon you mean
are done with a band, so they wouldn't really sit right on
the album itself I think...

One of the worst live acts I've ever seen. Made me
uninclined to check their studio work out.

got the new Manuva album recently, still not listened to it
enough yet but it does sound good so far!

like you said about nods to his previous work, there are
loads... like "sinny sinning" and such.

saw him live in Leeds in Feb, was pretty damn good :D

Do we take the references to this being his last LP
seriously though?

Wow, so this album has really grown on me, but my guess is
it'll probably turn out to be one of the most slept on
quality releases of this year. There's lots of detail in the
production, though it may indeed seem a tad overproduced now
and then.

Lyrics are nice, funny at times, solid flow. The choruses he
sings are easily picked up and there to stay. I can't
pick an absolute favorite song really, they all have their
charms.

I somehow get the impression that he produced this album
entirely using Reason, which if true would make it an even
more interesting album to me as a Reason user.

Now I hope he's going to do a dub remix album of this one
too, "awfully dub" or something.

Anyway, definitely give this one a try!
