yes, that part is actually quite confusing now that i see i
made a mistake thinking he put "rob brown" and not "rob
borwn"..hmm

he's not talking about rob brown, he's talking about Robert
B. Perso, the famous linguist. one of his earliest books
was a study of regional cologuialisms entitled,
"North-Atlantic Language: A World Of Words" (NAL for
short). and obviously, it stands to reason that oyvinto is
referring to chapter five of the book, paragraph one, which
of course is a delightful anecdote about Perso's voyage to a
small fishing village in Maine where he interviewed a
swarthy old captain during the annual clam bake. it's a
rather humorous little story that involves the pronunciation
of the word "clams", a one-legged prostitute, and lots and
lots of lemons.
