EP7's my favourite Ae ep though technically it's not an
EP..Anvil Vapre's got some of my Favourite Ae tracks

hey is it true about the secret track on Ep7? On the
auutechre.nu site I read that theres a hidden track at the
very beginning. You have to pause your CD player and rewind
for 6 minutes to get it. I dont have it on mine, im
wondering if its on the UK version?

ep7 is glorious.
not counting ep7, then definitely peel sessions 2 in which
there is NO COMPETITION

Yeah ep7 has a hidden track. It's not on the USA version
(bastards!), I had to get a copy off opennap.

offline LionelCosgrove from Baden Württemberg (Germany) on 2002-02-12 20:37 [#00086643]
Points: 195 Status: Regular

yes its right with the hidden track. i don't understand why
there are different versions of albums, thats stupid. but
you don't have to rewind 6 minutes...on my cd its exactly
9.48...and there's the track beginning...if you rewind just
one second more back...then you have to do it again
:(...stupid, but the track is weird great.

offline nhiiq from the hanging valleys on 2002-02-12 21:29 [#00086709]

man i hate ep7, well not hate... that's a strong word. i
just can't get into it, and it's not an "understanding" the
music thing. just doesn't appell to me but i think it serves
as a step up to confield (my fav of their's).

as far as eps that i like... garbage (garbagemx36 fucking
rocks). cichlisuite, is very good. i just heard peel session
v2 last night, and it's damn good. peel session v1 is nice
and chilled so i like that too. and some anvil vapre for
good measure.

offline nacmat on 2002-02-12 21:36 [#00086716]

i think you are the first to answer this topic, because at
the first post i did i said "not counting ep7" and they have
only talked about ep7... well maybe i didnt make myself
clear.
good taste anyway... cichlisuite i like it a lot too

well, envane! i still tend to produce tears when listening
to draun quarter...

and i like tracks 1&3 off peel sessions 2 a lot. so there.

yeah they must of just scanned the topic and ignored the
root message. any who i got to check out envane, what is it
like?

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2002-02-12 22:17 [#00086744]

the tracks off envane have a similar sound, which makes it a
pleasing album to listen to. tracks 1&4 are quite
melodic&moving, imo and the other 2 tracks are more upbeat
drummy songs, that i think are two of the better abstract
songs they made.

it is REALLY good. tho not all agree.

Peel session 2 is good, Garbage is great 'cos VLtremix is
awesome and make the difference.

Anyway one of my fav ep in this period is GANTZ GRAF, i love
the first 30 seconds of track1, especially the first 10
seconds. Powerfull and harsh track, wonderful video.
CapIV has one of the best Ae melody in the backgroud and
it's superlative.

Peel Session 2 is superb.. the production is great and the
tracks are just fabulous .. Anyone who likes it get the
live@coachella thing, it has a stormer of a version of
Blifil! Envane and Anvil Vapre are probably their best
though.

Basscadet-Haven't listened in a while. Pretty standard
compared to what they would do later.

Anti-Flutter is one of their greatest concepts, if not
tracks.

Anvil Vapre-Superb industrial-strength Autechre. Second
Scepe is marvelously frantic, yet flows with energy.

Garbage-Highest quality of recording. Ideas are fully
formed and executed. This is what Amber COULD HAVE been,
condensed into 40 minutes.

Peel Session 1-Superb work. Drone is a great track, but
Milk DX and Inhake 2 have their charms as well.

Envane-Two great tracks (Laughing and Latent Quarter), two
good tracks (902 and Draun Quarter).

Cichlisuite-Krib and Tilapia are highlights on another
superb collection.

ep7-Now that Confield has come and gone, I have newfound
respect for this record. However, I remain on the same idea
I had before Confield: It's too experimental for it's own
good as an album.

Peel Session 2-Not as good as the first, but Gelk and
Gaekwad are quite good to add to the quality of this
recording.

Gantz Graf-Has grown on me and I consider it a perfect
epilouge to Confield.

i'm not a big fan of autechre (as i have made evident
numerous times) but i've always liked the Anti EP for some
reason. not sure why really. it's just nice.

I prefer autechre rather than aphex (even though i like him
a lot)

i didnt like ep7, too jazzy
i have peels I and II, envane and ganz graf
that's sort of interesting because together with confield
that's the only ae i have yet :)
i'm just taking it in all slowly
i really want draft 7.30 though
next i'll get lp5 and than tri repitae ++
thanks for letting me bore you with this
o, since you came this far: what ep shall i get next? i like
peel II best so far
i cant listen to the first quarter: it hurts like hell on my
ears :(

incunabula is the sheeznit while drunk and/or driving

peel sessions is awesome, drone is the best autechre song.

get garbage.

offline big from lsg on 2003-10-03 20:34 [#00888647]
Points: 23729 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

oops, i have incunabula too, forgot
i dont think i've ever had a cd wear of on me as quick as
peel session I, i think it sounds to full or thick to me
(like kid a a bit), i'm so anal on sound :(
i had never heard of garbage yet (or thought you were
talking about the band, it's such a sense making title for
ae), might you be able to describe it a bit with the nolidge
i already have of ae?
drinking and driving to ae i have to try once, my non
possesion of a driverslicense might actually come in handy
with that somehow

offline k_maty on 2003-10-03 20:43 [#00888660]

ya it rules

what you should do is order tri repetae++, which is the
american version (i think) because it comes with anvil vapre
and garbage.

garbage is incredible, it starts of like a song from wish
you were here then into, uh whatever. my fav are the first
and last songs.

offline big from lsg on 2003-10-03 20:48 [#00888666]

ooh, cant wait, but have to have lp5 first (and draft)
because i like the melody (and the rest) of the first track
of that album sooo bad (i wistle it alot evenly). i might
have enough old skool ae for now anyway, i mean i want to
take it all in slowly to enjoy it as much as possible :)

My favourite would have to be Envane, followed by Garbage. I
don't think AE have ever released a dud.
