i recently discovered M83 and i've been listening to Dead
Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts over and over again.

i also like Before The Dawn Heals Us but not quite as much.

anyone else like them? also does anyone know of similar
musicians that i could check out?

i'm seeing M83 and Ulrich Schnauss on April 19, in Toronto.

Ulrich Schnauss has a similar sound, check him out.

I really liked them, and then they wore off very quickly,
and now I can't be bothered to listen to them. That could be
my problem though, hell, let's just say yes, it's my
problem. Nice guys though, I'm sure.

Oh and the band they sound like is My Bloody
Valentine
but in the way that if MBV hadn't spent the
last 15 years smoking drugs and had picked up a laptop and
recorded some music.

It is not your problem because it is also my problem.

I used to think they were lovely
Now they annoy me
Life sucks

theres also a self titled debut brought out prior to dead
cities ,
the gooom record label site is worth a look here
purple confusionare a group feat m83 and several other
artists
kids indesructible are also reputed to have a similar sound
you shoud have more luck finding those cd's in vancouver ,
i had no such luck in alberta this weekend

theyre awsome, you should deffinitly get the run into
flowers single, its easy to find since its been released
domesticly here, before you had to get the import.
i saw m83 play (with schnauss as someone mentioned) back in
september in montreal. both were really awsome.
they are one of the few acts id want to see at this years
coachella festival.
the closest they are coming this time to me (victoria) is
portland or seattle and ive tried finding out if i would be
able to get into those US shows, but im not 21 till june

m83 is one guy now. his new album is great but has a few
cheesy tracks.

I have 'M83' and 'Dead Cities' and they are both really good
but there is such a huge wash of sound that I get a
headache, which I never do when listening to My Bloody
Valentine.

I can't really think of a band that sounds much like M83
besides MBV and Seefeel (much more chill). Ulrich Schnauss
is a lot less white-noisey.

yeah, youre right, even when i saw them back then it was
just the gonzales guy. although he had like 3 other people
for the live shows, like it was more of a band.
which the records sort of and sort of dont sound like, so it
was cool. it was really great.
