a book about it but one thing bothers me though!
which photo would you sudgest to buy and why...what is it
that you need to pay attention to...lense,zoom?

thanks.

depends how serious you are.. how much do you want to spend.
ignore digital zoom, ignore interoplated pixles.

quality - megapixles youll want at least 5mp for decen a4+
prints. this isnt everything though.. things like colour
tone are important too.

if you wanna get different lenses/filters you may want a
high end camera. ive got a dslr (canon eo3 300d) which you
can grab for about 500 quid now. id highly recommend but its
pretty big as its a pro camera. do a search on google.

really depends on your needs though..

i'm thinking to buy something for an novice in
photography...anything would do,just not some ultra
commercial crap.
how about a digital photo...what do i need to pay attention
to?
are the lenses changeable on them or just on analogue?

SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera's are the ones you can
change lenses (and a few top-end prosumers too i think) on.
These are much cheaper analogue but you can get them digital
(like my cam see above).

u can get a decent digi one for 200 odd. see above for main
points - megapixles, the more the better, optical zoom,
shooting modes, etc. the more the better really at this
price.

i love getting new ideas/concepts in my head and then trying
to communicate them visually in the best way possible...
pshop helps too for a little bit of processing (contrast
etc.)

ow...i was thinking that i would not use photoshop.
just the raw reality as it is.

one thing is really cool about my town and that is that it's
3000 yrs old,so a lot of inspiration just comes from the
structure of the buildings.

cool mate, theres nothing wrong with enhancing your photo
using digital darkroom techniques just as you would if you
were developing your own analogue. just so long as you dont
manip the whole image.

yea another reason its so great- tons of shit to learn. like
all the analog stuff and general photography rules, then
digital shit - colour depth, resolutions, white balance, etc
etc etc... love it mate

hehehe...i'm really interrested in B/W images,although i
don't like what dijital cameras offer as b/w filters.

whats the deal with B/W...are there analogue cameras that
only work like that or something else?

nah mate its the film that does b and w... but dont worry
get your digital shots in photshop and use the channel mixer
to convert it to monochrome and then use the red green blue
sliders to play about with it until u have the mix of black
and white that you want.

digital is cheaper - saves on film and storage, faster your
shots are developed instantly, and with photoshop too you
have the best darkroom money can buy in one package (hence
its name and price tag) - you will soon discover how
powerful photoshop is. get some mags with tutorials in, the
tutorials are pretty crappy but give you an idea of what you
can experiment with.

aha...i always thought it's about the camera,ah
well...atleast it's demistifised now.
one thing is for sure...we are spoiled to the
bone...analogue thing was soo hard, cos you needed to know
what you want and with digital it doesn't really matter, cos
you can always delete what you don't like.

kinda yeah.... digital makes it dead easy to get into, but
that doesnt mean youll become a better photographer or
anything though..

"kinda yeah.... digital makes it dead easy to get into, but

what, you can say the same about analogue

if you are doing manual digital work (i.e. not just using a
point-and-shoot cam,) then you will learn (and have to
learn) all those details ... eventually

digital is cheaper ... i'd start on digital imo

no analogue means being perfect with your shots from the
off, otherwise wasting money and time on film... this doesnt
happen with digital... thus digital is easier to get into.
