THE NEWS: [WWW.CUBE-EUROPE.COM]
By Ash - Mar 5th 2005 23:20 ----------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------
Resident Evil 5 has been confirmed as being in development, but the big question is, what platform will it reside on?
Hiroyuki Kobayashi has recently spoken to Electronic Gaming Monthly and has confirmed that Resident Evil 5. People who have played Resident Evil 4 will tell you that the ending leaves the series open for another game.
Not much is known at the moment, and that's not an exaggeration. No consoles, release date or even game characters have been announced, and the only think that has been said about the game is below.
"We are going to do a RE5, of course, but as for exactly what it will be like...that's what we're busy thinking about right now. The first four games-1,2,3 and CV, were more or less the story of Umbrella. RE4 takes place six years after those games, and Umbrella's been completely destroyed; this is the start of a new story line, in other words. When you think of it that way, then it's safe to say that RE5 will naturally proceed where RE4 left off. If you play through everything RE4 has to offer, I think you will get a taste of how this progression will work. I'll leave the rest up to your imagination."
While it is not known when more details will be available, however if more details are not revealed at E3 Capcom clearly don't know what they're doing.

murray, have you tried/seen RE4? It looks to have taken the series to somewhere great, after the admitted (albeit fun) turd that was RE3.

Resi 4 is in the post to me as I type. I cannot wait. I always liked the resi games, but thought they could be improved upon. From what I've read, resi4 sorts out most of the annoying things.
