ok ok, an over written about topic, but hey....

ok i am listening to this live CD they recently put out,
erm, can't remember the name, but any ways..... the version
of "every thing in it's right place", that's on here is
fucking brilliant. i sat back for a moment and just listened
to just how much Johnny sampled and disorted and played back
thom's voice, and it just blew me away.......... they are
just fucking great.

OK Computer is a fucking masterpiece. Its so hard to choose
whether The Bends, OKC and Kid A are best. One day I think
its OKC, then Kid A, The Bends.... thats what is so great
about them. I didnt like Amnesiac coz it sounded the same as
Kid A. They couldve just released the best tracks from both
albums or a double album but I dunno, Amnesiac kinda let me
down. The I Might Be Wrong live recordings was nice,
especially LIKE SPINNING PLATES and TRUE LOVE WAITS. Top
tunes!

There are periods when I will listen to nothing but
Radiohead. All of OK Computer is excellent. They deserved
the praise. Kid A is good to listen to when you're
depressed. Amnesiac has its hits and misses, but all in all
I like pretty much all of their work. How to disappear
completely and Pyramid Song are two of my favorites.

Pyramid song

I love Radiohead... the best rock band now... Kid A is
brilliant, as is Ok Computer... Ok Computer was my favorite
record for years... and I don't understand the problem with
Kid A being inaccessible, I loved it the first time
through... I think it's excellent... Amnesiac is not as
good, as some of the songs I don't find that appealing, but
the good ones are some of their best... and The Bends is
awesome as well... very nice and emotional, especially Fake
Plastic Trees... Pablo Honey, well, I don't really like it
that much... it's alright, but nothing special...

they make music THEY like....i feel lucky to be the
recipient of such a gift. for me thom and the other members
of radiohead follow their own lead.....not someone elses.

Radiohead reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd, songs about
alienation and the fascination with electronics. Good
stuff.

I like a few songs by them... Tom Yorke seems so unhappy.
Come on, he makes millions, why the long face all the time?
I sometimes can't stand Tom's singing, sorry.

yeah man they are awesome, Kid A was a landmark album in my
opinion, it got me into guitar based music and guitar fans
into electonic music!!

thom yorke is a fucking genius. In 1997 he's in one of the
biggest bands in the world, and he orders the whole WARP
back catalog for inspiration. he gets sick of guitars and
challenges all his indie fans to listen to their new sound.
that deserves respect man.

can u imagine some twats like Oasis doing that? was reading
an interview with them the other day, and Noel Gallagher
seriously believes they are the 'biggest' band in the world.

"Its not easy being in the biggest band in the world" he
says. twat.

shitter crappier more boring
than the other tracks on this CD
but I needed to fill out a bit of space
so I decided a computer talking bollocks would do the trick
and people might think it was art
in fact it's just poo-poo
stinky poopy nuts
with wonky sounds and gurgly-wurgly noises in the
background
to make it sound more meaningful
in fact it's about as meaningful
as a nurse
with a purse
in a hearse
which, come to think of it, is actually quite meaningful
OK then, it's more like
a gerbil
tied to a monkey
with a little baseball cap on
who is called tony
hello tony
poopy-poopy-poopy-poo
I like farting in bed
and wafting the farts with the duvet
ooh, stinky
why do i like it?
it's because i'm a ponce in a box on hooch
and bacardi breezers (watermelon flavour)
hello? are you still listening?
it's almost over now
yes, this is it
it's finished
thank fuck for that
bye-bye

open question: what exactly are the "misses" on amnesiac? i
prefer kid a as an album for fluidity, but there's not a bad
song on amnesiac. i don't understand the backlash on the
album, outside of the (intentional) rough transitions
between songs (a la drukqs). how come no one ranks it up
there with their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums? "like spinning
plates" is one of the best songs they've released, in my
opinion.

Peter File, no comment, you cunt.

look, i am one of those sort of radiohead fans who thinks
they can do no worng.... there are no songs on Kid A or
Amnesiac that i do not like, or skip or what ever, I even
enjoy the interlude that Trees Fingers creates on Kid A. but
by far, my fave song has to be Pariniod Andriod. I see that
as their master piece.

OK Computer like I said before was a fucking masterpiece. It
all just fits so well and will definitely be an album that
the next generation of youth will love just as much as -to
quote Ophecks here-, God's Band (the Beatles).

offline thanksomuch from planet claire on 2002-02-13 15:08 [#00087456]

i veiw OKC more as the point where radiohead could go no
further as far as greatness. but like a truely wise band,
they took a step backwards to go forward inna new direction
with Kid A and Amnesiac. that by all means does not mean
that i think those aldums are indeed a step lower, they move
in a new direction from OKC..... make any fucking sence??

makes absolute and complete sense. My friends and I have
discussed it and we view OK Computer as an album that looks
out at the world around and makes a comment on it, whereas
KID A and Amnesiac is an inward viewpoint. I think that's
why there's such an odd disparity in the sound, yet at the
core the same soul pervades. It's just the same observer
looking from opposite vantages.

God's Band (The Beatles, as Fernz so accurately stated) will
always crush all opposition, it was so effortless for
them... Radiohead is trying too hard, so they'll never reach
Beatle heights, but they may pass Pink Floyd, in my mind,
and become #2 all time.
