I've been listening to his album Delivery alot and I must say, his music is highly groovy. I especially dig the track, Affaire. Does anybody else dig Scanner? |

i have an album called DJ Spooky VS Scanner... i like it quite a bit, but dont know much more of his stuff... i hear he samlpes peoples cell phone conversations...? (or at least thats how he made his name in the biz.. quite literally) |

yup Affaire is a phone call of a suicidal man saying goodbye to his wife.. its depressing all of his music puts you in states of emotion. i really enjoy his stuff |

His first 'album' (and second and most of the third) was exactly that, just phone conversations recorded with a cellphone scanner (hence the name). They're not terribly interesting after the first listen, but the later stuff is dead good. After Mass Observation things improve. Listen to Lauwarm Instrumentals, that's rather nice. |

The EP (Mass Observation 95) is probably a better bet that the Mass Observation album. (The album is half phone conversations and half listenable music) Especially good on the EP is Flaneur Electronique. Play that on a system with a lot of bass! Nice :) |
