your favorite music from the 80s and mine, lets hear it for the Smiths! Seriously, I love these guys and I wish they could have stayed together longer instead of splitting up to work on their mediocre other projects.
Here are some classic tracks if you don't know them:
Hand in glove, this charming man, William it was really nothing, heaven knows I'm miserable now, Still ill, The boy with the thorn in his side, this joke isn't funny anymore, there is a light that never goes out, + some really awesome songs that I'm forgetting

I like solo Morrissey, not as much as The Smiths as a complete package, but he has released dozens of great songs as a solo artist. I'm kind of glad they split up, they released, what, five classic albums in as many years, and then called it a day, what other artists have had the decency to do that? I pray, in fact, that they never reform, nor should Marr, who became just another journeyman guitarist of little merit, sadly, work with The Mozz again. The Smiths though, fuck me! YES.

I was high a few weeks ago at my favorite record store with a bit of cash in my pocket, so I decided to go for a stroll down memory lane by purchasing "Meat is Murder" on CD. My older cousin gave me his complete vinal record collection when I had first really really gotten into music at the age of 13. One of those records (all 80's stuff - punk, metal, glam, inde) was that particular Smiths record. I put that fucker on the old giant phonograph that doubled as a piece of furniture my parents have in our living room and - magic. I can see how most people would hate the Smiths, but I was instantly hooked. I haven't heard the record in years, but I was suprised and happy to hear that it still had that certain feeling that I so fondly remembered as a hormonally ravaged teen. i even like the track "Meat is Murder".

this is a really weird co-incidence.
i've always dismissed the smiths because i dislike morrissey so much.. but i'd never heard much of their stuff. tonight, a girl sent me "this charming man" and i love it. Just finished downloading their best of (I and II)..
Suggestions for best traximax to listen to?
