The TV was on in the background. The news were on, but I'm surfing interwebs, so it was just faded in the background. Suddenly the words "here, the woman lies stuck under the wheels of the [errh.. how to translate.. those things that are like one-car trains that run in the streets. In norwegian it's a "Trikk"]," and my head turned instantly to see the woman stuck under it... then, I suddenly realise that the news-story wasn't primarily about the woman being stuck under the [whachamacallit], but rather about the amount of people who wanted to see her being mamed who blocked the way of the ambulance/doctor people... I wonder if I would've been one of those people blocking the doctors... ..the woman is ok, btw... |

I hate that thing where people are gawping at someone who has been wounded in an accident. when you're in a bus riding past a traffic accident the bus will almost tip over with all the people running over. |

trolley! qrter: yeah, that's the stuff I'm talking about, and at the same time we all go "oh, the romans were barbarians! they offered people to the lions for fun!" the only difference is that we do not (usually) actively engage in provoking the stuff we're so obsessed with and will watch at any chance. |
