mornin lionel

yeah-nice watery beats on two of-cant say ive heard
skll2-wheres that from?

have you heard the keynell ep? SKAM have reissued it on
cd-definately worth picking up-just waiting for skam to
reissue 'cicada' now. snackwitch is good tune as well....

yes of course i know keynell, i like almost everything of
gescom. theres a difference to the other autechre releases
but i can't say what it is. skfl i'm not sure where it is
from, but its definately from gescom because i've read
somewhere its the second part of skfl...and skfl (the first
track) is great too. i have a question...in the UK is there
electronic more popular than here? here: nobody does listen
to it..i mean in my city, nobody even knows aphex, ae,
squarepusher...its sad.

well-the artistrs you mention have a strong underground
following over here-a lot of the people i know are into
chart stuff, crap indie pop, or just generally dislike dance
music-each to their own, but i think in general, people can
be quite lazy when it comes to finding decent music-as i
say, each to their own but it strikes me as a bit of a shame
that the charts over here dictate what people buy/gets
played on the radio etc-its all a big media buisness game
that has little to do with quality.

but i do believe america is a pretty anti electronic music
country compared to others.

gescom gets big points in my book. im not familiar with
those songs(cause i never keep track of song titles) but i
really like their stuff. autechre as well.

you probably couldnt say gescom is better or worse than ae.
i wouldnt anyway but i usually tend to shy away from
comparing anyway. but they are definetly both good.
slightly different flavors from the same soup bowl.

GESCOM is a collaboration of up to twenty artists, not
necessarily working as a whole unit but as a collective-it
is often mistaken that only shaun and rob have anything to
do with gescom-darrel fitton (bola) is a regular
contributor. then again there are similaritie sbetween ae
and gescom, whic are subtle and difficult to identify-worth
a lisen in my book...

i love gescom. autechre in the early days. but you're right
"KEN", it doesn't matter how many people listen to music,
this has nothing to do with quality...the majority can be
wrong too ;)

well the thing is if a tunes a tune i really couldnt care
less who's made it, behind it- i genuinely dont care as long
as its good. i think its important to think like that-it
makes you less blinkered to stuff- the drawback with the
record industry over here is that that approch isn't
promoted enough-i mean thank god we've got the like s of
john peel-a man i admire because at least a third of the
music im into i heard on his radio show-i can remember
hearing 'digereedoo' when no-one had heard of aphex twin-and
he's still ahead of the pack in what he plays. its just a
shame only certan styles of music are given such a huge
platform-and so much of it is tripe-it is bad music. sure,
if people get off on that fine-as i say, each to their
own-id just love to be able to introduce the music i love to
these people -not in a patronising-'this is what you SHOULD
be listening to' way, but just for them to have a listen and
see what they think-for example, im sure that a lot of
people relate drum and bass to its commercial use for
fucking air freshner adverts, -y'know what i mean?-if some
could look past the robbie williams and kylie minogues of
this world, they'd find a whole spectrum of music that they
might dig.

i have to say again...you're right...but for me it wasn't
that easy to understand what you wrote. weird english for me
(i'm from germany). many sentences which dross another...but
i think i got what you meant
