them - then seconds afterward they clicked open the web

I agree with what Sire said a million years ago where he
says "the whole series is really a treat for all the
veteran fans who have been waiting for more AFX techno.
"
- I suppose he's in a position now where he has a new
generation of fans that love Drukqs onward, and the fans
that started with him with SAW 85-92. That's not a criticism
or anything of anyone, or saying you can only enjoy him if
you heard him 10 years ago, just that there do seem to be,
for some people, different aspects that they take from AFX
over others. I love, LOVE the Analords, initially I was a
bit disappointed with 3 & 4 but now, Crying in your face,
Breath March, Klop Job, Boxing Day... CLASSIC TWINAGE, and
they do have to be listened to properly as there is a lot to
be heard in the nuances.

I actually had a dream last night that I was at Blech night
and RDJ broke the decks so everyone left, and I asked him
about the upcoming analords (he had a 10" white vinyl of
Analord 6, oh yes) and he said every year he wants to
release tracks in a diiferent format so I guess, next year
could be... I don't know, Dicky never lies to me in dreams,
we're lucid buddies.

even if you like the early afx tracks you have to admit they
are a mixed bag, there are crap tracks and great tracks,
whereas SAWII and the few albums after that have been
consistantly brilliant, thats the kind of quality we want to
see again.

QUOTED FOR MUTHA FUKIN TRUUF

I can't believe how much hate the analords get, but hey ...
you can't please everyone and it appears that no one will be
(ever) satisfied.

first of all,

there was a vote a while back about what aphex should
released next.
The winner? "something completely and totally different"

So he released Smojphace (noise) and everyone complained
like little school girls not getting their pads on
white-pant day.

So now, time goes on and there are quite a few posts on how
everyone would wish he would just "release his old afx
material, from way back in the day" ... "all the analogue
shit that he has just sitting around, just release it"

well sure as mutha fukin shit look what happens,

a whole slew of analogue releases.

now of course, about 80% of the people from what i've seen
are taking these as "created in 2005" analogue tunes and "oh
man he's sooo unoriginal now"

..... i can't help but laugh inside at this foolishness.

A lot of the tracks have been play @ live sets 3+ years ago,
and who knows how old many of them actually are (i suspect
older than most of us think; a mixture of old and new and
maybe even re-created tunes ) not to mention the dub-over on
Bwoon Dub.

Ok, so now we have 'gents exclaiming that richard fell off
and that he is so "un-original" (kekek) and the sort.

To those people who don't like analord 1-2; how often do
you listen to the analogue bubblebaths? how often do you
listen to the crazy acid U.I.

I know I was never a HUGE fan of the A.Bubblebaths, an

and this release is *really* getting me inspired to go back
and take a look/listen at some of his really early acid
work.

I was never hugei nto the acid and now with the re-hashing
of this analogue stuff, im really starting to get excited
about it!!!!

I have always been into his later work (especially drukqs)
and the melody-oriented tracks (oh wait, that's just about
EVERY song hah!) and ya know.

Well, analord 10 was just insane-crazy.

I don't think people realize just how hard (i sure as hell
can't imagine) it is to make this kind of stuff on analogue
gear. Many of you have probably been spoiled by opening a
program applet and starting to insert sounds.

Meh, coming from analogue *physical* gear, it really seems
to have a much more "personal" touch / feeling / listen to
it.

Analord 10 was great, and labeled as Aphex Twin (somewhat
representing DrukQs I guess you could say).

Then Analord 1 came out, and I'm like, ok cool some toned
down acid stuff that i've never really been into before.
Well, sure as shit I started blasting it in the car and
man-o-man did i really start getting into it.

I now understand what all the hub-bub is about acid and how
badass it is to groove to.

Ok, it took some time for most of the tracks to grow on me,
much like any release.

Stepping Filter (once it gets going) has some groovy crazy
type movement in it.

canticle drawl is pretty damn cool sounding and really
banging (bassline)

mc-4 acid, yeah, i don't even think i need to describe this
track

untitlede, well i skipped over it at first, but on a few
more listens i really liked that background synth that came
creeping up and now i can dig this track (usually only when
im tdriving)

WHERE's YOUR GIRLFRIEND, hjeezous this track is the SHIT.
those 1/2 cut snares are INSANE (especially at the breakdown
around 3:01) OH MAN, and the bass my god the BASS!

that shit NAILS in my car setup

grumpy acid is fuking crazy good groovy shit. i LOVE this
track

analord 150b is fuking BANGING, i can't wait to hear (if
ever) this shit on the dancefloor

that bass is fuking INSANE.......it's sad most people aren't
listening to bass the same way i do, because this shit is
just over the top pure resonance.

analord 2

oh man, ok so this is really what it's about for me.
the hard acid took a backseat and real beautiful melodies
started creeping out from the background.

phonatacid is just a bangin' track that transistions so
fukin well, it's so slow and smooth,

laricherard is a crazy track to listen to when driving at
night under the city lights

pissed up in se1 has a damn near magical melody to it that
is 110% nostolgic!!!

and of course, my favorite, bwoon dub, god damn the melody
(both parts of it) are just out of this world, i don't know
how anyone can not get the biggest kick out of that
shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now analord 3 and 4 just came eout and i've been grooving to
that pretty good,

boxing day, klop job, etc are analord2 style with a bit more
acid creeping back out and almost taking over,

much more complex, building and building yet still not going
all crazy-all-over-the-place etc type music

the midi raves are almost analord1 style to me and there are
times when i like these and other times when i want the
melody tracks, all dependso n m ymood

CRYING IN YOUR FACE, im sorry but that is the most bad ass
voice i have ever heard, regardless...jeezous this track is
the SHIT and i can't get the damn voices out of my head!

home made polysynth? so many people think it's "out of tune"
wtf. .. im not sure what to say about that, toeach their own
but damn ,,, stop listening to mp3s .. this track has some
crazy nostolgia going on as well.

hulibut acid, and the rest are just banging i can't get
enough.

i agree with sire 110%

most people are just listening as soon as they get it

skimming through the *MP3S* (laughs omg) and skimming around
going "hmm this isnt bad, not what i wanted though"
umm, really?

that's sucks man im getting the biggest kick out of this.

first of all, we have about 70% of the people listening to
analord on mp3 (guessing)

uhh, i ripped analord 3 and 4 and i know a lot of people got
them off me and i can tell you, after listening to A3/A4 in
my car on mp3 cd and then going back to the vinyl, i am
hearing a LOT of differences, so ... lol, i feel sorry for
the people without the vinyl who are trying ot judge this
album on "quality"

as for it being boring? meh, if you want more drukq style
cut up in your FACE drill, then i guess there's always
vsnares.

this is exactely what i want, the most beautiful aphex
melodies with a little craziness going on in the background
(ocassionally)

now

the beauty about these, and richard, is that his layers
blend so well

especially on A10, or A3 and A4

there wil be some layers in there and NOTHING, NOTHING jumps
out to grab you.

you can (as said by someone else in this forum) you can put
analord on and do other work, and it doesn't break your
concentration,

it's not like most other electronic music where if you try
concentrating on something while listening to it, you keep
getting pulled to the music.

no way no how, this shit is smooth and can idle well in the
background, and every now and then youll go "wtf damn that
is awesome"

the melodies are out of this world i am totally happy with
analord 10, 1, 2 and i dont even want 5 or 6 to come out
because i need more time to listen to 10,2,1 etc... too much
analord, ANALORD OVERLOAD!! give me some time to fuking
DIGEST THIS SHIT AND ENJOY IT BEFORE THROWING MORE AT ME.

feel bad for all the people who say this music isnt good
when they are listening to mp3s and probably arent in the
right mindset to begin with

of course not everyones gonna like it

there is the whole nostolgic feeling too of putting on the
vinyl and im glad it's not coming to cd anytime soon.

it gives you a form (mental) of interaction with the music
and the "feeling" of it and the "sound" man , im so glad i
started getting into vinyl recently (to listen to, not to
mix)

i have no problem getting immersed in any of these analord
tunes.

this was well worth my money. i don't even want 5,6,7,8,9

That is an Apocalypse Now scale post but I have to agree
with you. I think we've all been spoilt with so much music
sometimes we can't hear properly. It was a dream that RDJ
would go back and make tracks like these, sometimes I Can't
believe it's true when I listen to "Pissed up in SE1" or
"Where's your girlfriend"... he's such an apparently
contrary fellow that I thought he'd only ever release
rubbish music just to piss everyone off, but no, to create
classic acid techno, ... and lots of it. I'd agree as well
maybe there's too much, the music needs to be digested, not
all the tracks are immediate, some are very subtle, they're
all growers, the melodies creeping out, and the genuis of
doing all this analogalallally is just mind slapping. Cheers
RDJ, and cheers Elsuive for nailing the case quite so
catagorically.

i really think the people who don't (there are always
exceptions) but ...

i would like to take an RDJ fan who has never heard ICBYD
(impossible, i know) but take a so called "fan" and let them
listen to ICBYD for the first time and i bet they would say
it's rubbish, like they are saying about analord now (i hope
you can see my point?)

like if he had a 2nd half to ICBYD from mid 90s and released
it tomorrow (and of course everyone would think he made
these tracks just yesterday instead of being old material)
and ya know, people would complain he's unoriginal and the
music sucks.

you guys should be thrilled the analogue melody king is
back.

nothing is more beautiful than some of those single notes on
there

this isn't analogue bubblebath, this is an
analogue-fuking-lake.

go ahead, dive underwater ... and re-emerge and inhale.

I can just agree. I have followed RDJ since 93 and
"Windowlicker" and "Drukqs" was disappointments for me. I
loved Fenix funk 5 when I first heard it - it´s an awesome
track! But the other tracks a r e growers and now I like a
lot of these tracks too. I can´t wait for a CD-release!

I seen people mention that a lot of the tracks are old
stuff, they obviously is (just compare analord 1-2
"mono-sound" with analord 10 "wiiiide stereo-sound"), but
has this been confirmed in an interview or something?

I was a bit disappointed when I put on Analord 01 for the
first time, but when I flipped the record to play the
B-side, I was actually smiling. I was perhaps mislead to
believe that this series was like a new ABB, but it's not.
Although using old equipment, the tracks sound fresh as
bread out of the oven.

It's pastiche, but forward-thinking at the same time. I
agree that it might be best to be primed with old-school
acid to fully appreciate it, but in it's own right they are
class A acid tracks. Considering the limits of memory/usage
on the equipment, especially on the Roland X0X series, the
drumtracks/acidlines are extremely clever and RDJ through
and through.

I like all the tracks so far, some more than others, but in
the end it all boils down to personal taste. For those who
don't like it, I am your phriend and won't hate you for it
or smack you in the head with my binder.

Elusive: I love you for the small Analord-essay you wrote :)

i think the whole vinyl versus mp3 thing is mostly
bullshit... there's definitely a difference, but for most
people it isn't going to make or break whether they like the
release or not... as other people have said, it's just a
matter of taste; to slag someone for their listening
attitude just because they don't like analord and you do is
pretty silly, and a mite inconsiderate also... most people
really wanted more drukqs... frankly, if i he puts out much
more drukqs, i will shoot myself in the face, because the
dressing over the formula is wearing real bloody thin at
this point... that said, these tracks are definitely hit and
miss... i hope he starts drawing inspiration from elsewhere,
one of these days... but if not: it's no big deal, there are
plenty of other brilliant innovative minds who can/will/have
accepted the challenge...

i knew listening attitude was a silly way of putting it...
what i meant by that is the attitude that someone has
towards listening to the music itself... i was mostly
referring to cygnus and elusive comments about people not
listening to it properly because they have the mp3s and blah
blah blah...

in any case, i wouldn't take mort's comments that
seriously... i'm sure he doesn't really think he can speak
for everyone... (although the saucy thread title, ensured
that this thread will hit 100)... maybe that sounds like a
double standard, i'm really not trying to make that much of
a statement though... i'm just padding my points total.
