Old sounds and New sounds

After many meditations I can say who I prefer the old
electronic music' style.
Why? I prefer the old AFX and AUTECHRE album than the new.

The year who changed the electronic music style could be
1995, imo. First of this year AFX released album like SAW
(85-92), SAW VOL.II, POLYGON WINDOW, etc... Autechre
released two great masterpiece like "INCUNABULA" e
"AMBER"... then the sound changed suddenly.

I like new style too but I find it a little bit cold
compared the the old works.

What do you think?

i had SAWII on vinyl in 1994... i am not waiting for him to
release "SAWIII" or joyrex J23 or anything - aphex's music
has just developed - i don't prefer either period

weren't formula1 cars there... (unfortunately) :D

btw I live very near to MONZA's circuit so every year I go
to see the Formula1's gp.

The real argument of my topic was the text below... :

Yeah, agreed in a way...

It was an odd time in the UK... Dance music was finally
going overground and you had all sorts of strange tracks in
the charts...and a lot of buublegum POPRAVE Nonsense tracks
(Simple formula: Breakbeat + Childrens TV Theme = money
money money)....

So to kinda distance themselves from this easy sound & to
move to an audience that wasn't entirerly tied to Breakbeats
or 4-2-the-floor BDs, people like Aphex & Ae took things in
a non-obvious direction....& like you say, you can hear it
in the music...those initial Ae/AFX releases were fairly
standard dance tracks but, anything post-93-94, is less
geared towards the dancefloor & more experimental...

shite, gotta go to work...will end this off later (might
even make a bit more sense once I've got a few coffees down
me neck...)...

woofer i understand what you mean about new ae being
colder... and all that, but i really enjoy the way autechre
is evoluting... with aphex i dont prefer any period , its
all different and all great...

jand you sure talk the god darned honest truth! there was a
time when i only heared dance music via dodgy old crusty
tapes copied and recopied off of mates, now its fuckin
everywhere from tampon adverts to even that fucking lame 4
to the floor beat that comes in with the news headlines!
thank god for the experimental!
