I was just going to order tickets for the WIH party at
electrowerks on friday 4th March... line up on
ticketweb.co.uk LAZY_TITLE is significantly different to
what Warp says/ what it originally was. Now there is Chris
Clark, Milanese, but Luke Vibert is gone, Maximo Park DJ set
(?), and no sign of Ceephax. Plaid is still there, and
Quinoline Yellow.

Um

That's weird? Maybe the site is wrong. The official WIH site
still has the massive long lineup from before.

convince myself that the site is wrong, here]

Still looks wicked though! And I've noticed Ticketweb,
Stargreen and the like very often have incomplete listings
on their websites. They just sell the tickets and don't have
anything to do with organising the event.. The best place
for info would be Wheels Instead of Hooves

there was an intial change of the provisional line-up, which
ticketweb never updated their site. their info is out of
date.

whats on the warp site is 100%

and for the doubters/rumour mongers saying b12 wouldnt turn
up/plaid we're double booked etc...

plaid are playing both iceland AND london (andy is in
iceland, ed is in the uk)

i've been chatting with b12 over the last few days and
theyre quite excited about the gig, and are playing an hour
long set of brand new material!! :-)

also andy maddocks (skam records founder/legofeet) is coming
down with the skam crew to play a *very* rare dj set

wheels site

That's simply not true. I saw them play at the deFocus
records night in Pool bar on Curtain road about 4 or so
years ago... Or maybe they were just imposters playing
alternative versions of B12 tunes off their laptops?

is really good though. Have they released outside of Warp?

we asked them (b12) when they last played live and they said
"about 6 years ago"

give or take a few months and Sire may well be right.

anyways, theyre not doing a laptops-plugged-into-dj-mixer
affair (or otherwise i'm sure they wouldnt have asked for a
24 channel desk....)

for those looking for a good warm-up drink i'd advise the
delta-9 party round the corner: delta 9 site (some nice
downloads on that site too...)

the article about this event in the warp news says you can
buy tickets from warpmart. I can't find them anywhere on
there though. anybody know how to get to them?

i'd just use the ticketweb site, but i only have a solo card
which they don't take.

Maybe we could have a little xlt meetup at the delt 9 do,
all?

ftc - I had the exact same problem, I'm pretty sure they
aren't on warpmart even though they say they are. I'd say
give Electrowerkz a ring sometime LAZY_TITLE and see if
Rough Trade or Smallfish record shops are selling them, I
know they often are. When it was the Amunition party they
had over a hundred tickets at the door also.

offline seed from United Kingdom on 2005-03-01 05:24 [#01516772]

There will be plenty of tickets available on the door.

however, at the last wheels bash, it had sold out to
capacity by midnight and people were being turned away, so
best maybe to arrive before the strike of 12....

and for those who have emailed and asked (lots of emails!)
b12 will be live on the main stage sometime beetween 12am &
2am

Short synopsis: great night

Only just gotten back to my house so obviously quite drunk
and tired but... it was real good. Missed B12, didn't even
know what time they were on, but saw Ceephax who was ok in
general, quite hard acid techno/rave/breaks stuff early in
the evening with his own mc rave chatter on top. Highlight
of the evening for me was this unidentified hooded person
playing fairly straightforward techno with a skamish melodic
touch and interesting rhythmic bits here and there in the
Skam room after Posthuman who were ok but didn't really get
the crowd going as much as they usually do, partly because
the temperature was really low in the room, literally. He
was playing before Quincy who was scheduled at that time but
only started playing later from a booth high above the crowd
(pretty much what I expected music wise). Maybe the artist
name was listed in the schedule but missed it, definitely
looking forward to hearing more. Hp Stonji rocked the house
in the SM room with some stuff from their ep and lp along
with live vocals, giving the gig a slightly DFA kind of
touch. Not necessarily my cup of tea exactly but the crowd
was loving it, especially the ladies, and I ended up
spending quite a bit of time listening/dancing like a
madman. Didn't bother checking out the Plaid DJ set and some
other stuff as I much prefer hearing whole gigs rather than
jumping rooms all the time.. Can't get everything I suppose.
Hooked up with KADO while listening to Luke Vibert play
toasting/ragga/hiphop vocals over Analords along with some
blasts from the past. Top man, great to meet you!

Got some video/audio/photos with my phone, most likely
really bad quality (haven't had a look yet) but I can post
them online for a while if anyone wants to check em out.

I think that's about everything my raved out brain can
remember now..hand over to KADO

Yeah, I was there and it was a wicked night. I went a bit
mental to be honest-there was a duo in the bar room on two
laptops who were just increadable and they were playing very
"live" as well.

I was pretty damn dissapointed with B12 though...I've never
been into them, so maybe I didn't "get it", but I thought
they weren't that exciting, and if they had been some
obscure act I'm sure people wouldn't have been quite
so...patient.

B12 are amazing, if you don't like them, you probably also
don't like A.R.T, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, etc etc... they
all make some of the most gorgeous techno ever made...
techno as it should be, melodic and interesting rather than
bangbangbangbang techno...

first heard B12 in about '91 on Colin Dale's Kiss FM show,
they weren't just on Warp, they had their own label (i'm
lucky to own most of the releases on this label, they are
very hard to find tho) B12 Records. Maybe you have to be a
certain age to appreciate them??? i don't know...

i only wish i could've been there last night to see them
play, they are legendary...

I like melodic techno actually. I just didn't dig large
sections of their performance, which didn't have much melody
and wasn't particuarly danceable. Some bits were nice,
though.

I had an excellent night aswell....Vibert, Plaid, B12 and
Ceephax were all awesome (I pretty much stayed in the main
room all night) The sound system was a bit pants in my
opinion, way too much top end...became painful at one
point!

Saw Aphex playing Mario Kart on a snes in the corner and the
Pusher wandering around and chatting with his bro..Didnt
approach them for fear of being pushed over or something.

After wandering round for half an hour looking for anyone
wearing a black beenie, I finally bumped intp Sire at the
front of the Warp room. : It was really cool to meet you
mate, hopefully see you at the next party :)

My friend Rich took some photos which I will proceed to post
up now.....

Crikey that was an excellent night. Ceephax was excellent in
my opinion, pretty good Vibert set as well and nice to hear
Analord 10 tracks, went down well.

Squarepusher shoved me really hard during Ceephax but then I
talked to him for a bit later and I conclude he's an alright
bloke. OMG Skwarepoosher! His girlfriend is quite young.

B12 was pretty good, didn't really get me going until the
encore track though. Didn't catch much of Plaid.

The 'ravemental' corridor was a bit shit this time, and the
Skam room was really empty. The SM room was good for
chilling out, saw two people on laptops, one of them
singing... that was good. Sorry I didn't meat anyone I was
already spread between 3 groups of friends.
