I'm a faculty member of an art university who is studying
for a major in integrated media. So instead on learning
calkwalk I'd rather use the Analog Roland Jupiter 8 that
seems to gather dust up in the Windows lab for video/live
perfromance/installation works. I'd prefer it since I'm used
to playing a piano and I don't want to learn another
computer program unless there's someting I really need to
use it for. Does anyone have any comments about the synth?

I'm sorry, I took a better look at the setup today. It's
actually a Jupiter 6 with an Ensoniq EPS sampler. I don't
know but the whole thing may be put through some midi "box"
into cakewalk. I'm very new to this. ^_^

Both Jupiters are great. The bigger JP8 is highly coveted
and costs an arm and a leg these days. It was designed by
Chris Franke of Tangerine Dream. There's a rack-mount
version of the JP8, called the MKS-80, which together with
the programmer module, is even more coveted.

I'd love to get my hands on one.

Oh yeah, I read in an Autechre interview, that 'Amber' was
all EPS experimentation.

Jup 6/8 reach quite a price nowadays.... lovely lush
analogue strings & basses, that you can't get anywhere
else...

The EPS is a nice sampler as well...I know a couple of
decent early Dance acts that do everything using just an
EPS...

So that's quite a good little setup you've got there...a
little old-fashioned compared to the latest greatest do it
all synths but more than capable of producing some real nice
sounds & tracks...

Also I seem to recall the EPS having a simple built-in
sequencer (not 100% sure)...so you could perhaps do
everything using just those 2 linked via MIDI and forget
about cakewalk...

Might be worth popping along to GOOGLE.COM and doing a
search on the exact model numbers...you should be able to
get a far better idea of their capabilites from there...

I think every1 needs bugs having sex in their pics. Makes it
all worth while.

But enuf silly jimmerjammer. You got pics of the inside of
your juno as well? I always love looking at the inside of
machines, specially music gear :)
