Has anyone been to a show by the guys? I'm set to see
them in Brooklyn February 24th. Anyone else going to that
show or the Bowery ballroom show the next night?

to get a taster, stream the concert Dutch radio has putten
up a while ago: click here then the speaker-icon. you'll
need RealPlayer or RealAlternative.

although I love "sung tongs", this kind of made me go "meh".

HOLY FUCKING SHIT I saw Animal Collective Thursday night in
the basement of a warehouse or something in Williamsburg
Brooklyn and it was AMAZING. Best term I read recently to
describe an Animal Collective show is RITUALISTIC. The only
other group I could even think to compare them to in terms
of performance is SWANS in their early peak.

Very unlike the "Sung Tongs" stuff - much more in the style
of "Here Comes the Indian" (my favorite), although they did
close with "Holiday", although this version was damn near
unrecognizable except for "fun fun! fun fun!"

glad to hear you enjoyed it... was there any other bands on
the bill?

Nix Noltes from Iceland. Banjo, cello, violin, accordian,
drumkit, electric and acoustic guitar playing gypsy music or
something. they were "ok". Their set went on way too long
though.
