...have a new song out. 'Little Sister'. It sounds quite shit upon first listen but stick with it if you like this stuff.

no, i'm not giving their new shit more of a chance than it deserves since josh homme fired nick oliveri. qotsa was over as soon as that happened. their new songs are absolutely awful and that's undoubtedly the reason why.

You are talking out of your arse (no offence). Oliveri is a likeable chap who can play bass fairly well. Homme is a fantastic songwriter/guitar player. Oliveri's songs on the QOTSA albums are poor compared to the rest, and even he admitted Kyuss were better with Scott Reeder. And Mondo Generator are shit!

then why do the qotsa songs sound awful like they're missing all the great basslines on their previous album? i suspect that homme was less of a mastermind on the old songs than we know.
a lot of times, bass players don't get their due credit for writing great parts that make a song really great. same thing with drummers. this could be one of those times.
i agree that nick's songs on the last lp weren't as good as homme's, but he may have contributed heavily to the ones homme did write.
at any rate, the proof is in the pudding. if this album sucks and nick doesn't have anything to do with it, what does that tell you?

i think it's also the case that qotsa have totally run their course as a band. i think they're just riding the gravy train now that they're popular. i think they're out of ideas now.

A Welsh rugby fan cut off his own testicles to celebrate Wales beating world champions England at rugby in Cardiff for the first time in 12 years, newspapers reported on Tuesday.
Geoff Huish, 26, told drinkers at a social club: "If Wales win I'll cut my balls off," the Daily Mirror and The Sun reported.
Friends at the club in Caerphilly, south Wales, thought he was joking.
But after Saturday's Six Nations match which Wales won 11-9 when Gavin Henson kicked a 45-metre penalty, Huish went home and reportedly cut off his testicles with a knife.
He then walked 200 metres back with the testicles to show the shocked drinkers what he had done.
Huish was taken to hospital where he remained in a seriously ill condition, the papers said.

I should have mentioned that the first LP is by far the best, and Oliveri isn't even on it (even if he is on the back of the sleeve).
