Does labels release tracks that has already been available
on the net? Or doas realising a track on the net
automatically mean it will never get properlly realeased?
Just curious?

It is really dependent on the
label (or net.labels) policy..

Find the labels you want to release
with and ask them directly.

I've seen it go both ways, regarding
your question. Labels sometimes request
artists to pull tracks (mp3's) down from
their websites if they're going to be
officially released.. sometimes labels
might not release a track (cd/vinyl) if
it has been published through a net.label.

There really isn't a clear-cut answer here.

I had a friend release a song online, and as soon as a label
owner heard it, he emailed him, and published it in a comp.
I think he had to take it down after though...

That has happened with IGLOO TRAX
(the mp3 feature at our e'zine) proving
that MP3's are a great promotional tool..

so you think that I could release 20 tracks on my personal
website, and I could still get any of the tracks officially
released?

I would really just focus on getting your music out there.
Release your stuff on your site, if you're not signed surely
its the best way to get heard. I would have thought it was
rare that a label would release something made before the
artist was signed, more they would release their efforts
made especially for the label... just my two cents, I don't
really have a clue...

I'll check your stuff out asap :D
