Sound cards that randomly die

So today my soundcard decided, for the 2nd time in its
history with me, to die unexpectedly for no good reason at
all. It was as simple as: I turned on my computer and my
speakers, windows booted and there was no sound from any
app. Like before, I just downloaded and reinstalled the
drivers and it came back. It's not that big a deal and it
didn't take long to repair, but why do retarded things such
as that happen to computer components?

I just can't take you seriously because I keep picturing
everything you type being spoken by the schmuck in your
avatar. :)

I'm seriously thinking about finally buying a new soundcard
(Audigy 2 or something similar) and taking a big old crap on
this one. 8]

I just bought an audigy 2 zs Platinum. Its got a faceplate.
I can record from 4 different sources at once.

If you feel like sinking another 100 or so, you can get the
audigy 4, and that thing allows you to record from 5
different sources, and then master 2 5.1 channels
simaltaneously.

you might want to see if something is wrong with the sockets
if two have gone bad

m-audio makes better cards than creative for equivalent or
lesser prices

do they support surround sound gaming as well or are they
mainly for music production?

ohhhhhh ok. i thought you had two soundcards go completely
bad, not just the drivers needing re-installing. well that's
better than what i thought :)

yeah, it's loads better hehe. I guess the title is a bit
misleading though, since my soundcard didnt really die
either time, it just went into a short coma. :D
