Is your username a corruption of "Quarter"? Why the lack of
capitalisation on the 'q'?

it comes from "laughing quarter", which is my favourite
track on autechre's "envane" EP and generally one of my
favourite autechre tracks.

I thought they had spelled all the "quarter"s in the track
titles as "qrter" and I thought that was funny. then I saw I
somehow had made that up myself and I thought it would be an
okay artist-name or something like that.

I especially like how it looks, hence the lack of
capitalisation on the q - to me it looks better.

at times I now find it to look a bit too stereotypically
"idm"-y, but I also think it fits the music and well, I've
had it for so long - if I don't really dislike it, why not
keep it.

another fun fact: I turned 27 today, would you believe it. I
feel old. :)

Happy Birthday qrter! 27 isn't old these days, it's like
being 20 in 1935.
