Especially people in their 30s ? Isn't ones youth the phase
in your life where you open for new ideas & philosophies ?
What happens to the idealism of the young years

cos their are afraid of dying and dissapear completely.
being nothing for the rest of eternity

they prefer to think they will live in another world with
gummybears and all

fear is that powerful

because they have a midlife crisis and they are dumb. They
never opened their minds to begin with.

Monoid, you wanna hang out sometime? Lets kill ourselves
together.

So the question becomes, why do people fear death?

Too many drugs. You'll understand soon enough. You'll be
"visited" eventually.

i wouldn't care to listen to any of your opinions unless you
yourselves are over 30yrs old.

hearing children talk about elders is downright ..........

and you're so elderly at the ripe old age of 21.

you might want to consider that you're about 3 years older
than most people here before calling them children.

just a thought. ;)

athiesm can be naive if taken to the extreme (theres always
the possiblilty that something is out there) , but
I'm still inclined to say that christianity is a bit more
naive.

taken to the extreme? atheism IS the extreme. if you think
that there's a possiblility that something is out there, as
you put it, you are not atheist.

being outside a group is not the same as knowing little
about them. most research on germs are done by people who
aren't germs, but I'd say they know a hell of a lot about
them even so, wouldn't you?

and.. it's hard to say why people discover religion.. it
could be because of something that happened to them that
they can't explain otherwise, they could be in need of
feeling they belong somewhere, they could simply be
convinced.. there are so many reasons to become religious
that mentioning them all would result in a list that ended
when the "more stuff" came...

People fear death for biological reasons, obviously. It's
an instinct.

Its because they had no meaning to their life to begin with.
Usually stupid people dont realize this till its too late
and they are married and have children. Jesus fills the
empty void they feel inside them.

OR its an excuse to stop doing something or continue doing
something.

IE: George Bush was a flamming alcaholic until he had to bow
down before a higher power that 'said' what he was doing is
wrong. He had to have the shit scared out of him so he could
stop drinking.
