Anyone else here fans of this show? It's pure genious... fast paced and devoid of cliches. Although it won like 3 or 4 emmys (including some for best comedy and best new comedy i beleive) it really hasnt gained any real viewer attention... Mostly due to the TERRIBLE promo's fox runs for it. There are like 6 or 7 solid laughs and episode but the promos decide to show the dumbest shit...
Anyways i'm just doing my part to try and keep the show going here because it's such a genious peice of work... anyone interested in an abstract free flowing type of comedy should check it out on Fox, sundays or rent the first season on DVD.
Tobias (David Cross from Mr. Show) is pure gold.

stupid ron howard
yeah i saw it once and thought it sucked
BUT
i caught a mini-marathon thing on FX and was hooked ever since the "Pier Pressure" episode. bought the DVD the next day.
anyone who thinks the show is unfunny should borrow/rent a disc of the DVD and watch 2 or 3 episodes in a row, i think you'll change your mind or at least chuckle once.

exactly, start at the beggining and see it for what it really is. If you hated it you either hate comedy in general or the pacing is just too quick for you.

I did say pretty much. There are exceptions as your example. I beleive it was around the same time Run Ronnie Run bombed. So more than likely the man was hard up for money. Either way, it's a forgivable tresspass. After all he and odenkirk did give us Mr. Show.

oh god it is the best show ever. so so so good. someone mentioned the op fan site, it is actually the-op.com not theop.com
david cross is excellent as is everyone else. finally we get a new episode after 2 weeks or soemthing without one.
i have the season 1 dvd and its very much worth it if you like the show. the episodes are very re-watchable.
also if your into torrents, there are digital tv rips of all the episodes that come out pretty much as soon as they are broadcasted. the rips are widescreen (fox broadcasts widescreen digital for some stuff) and are pretty much dvd quality)
i think the only good thing fox has ever broadcast

Invariably the best half hour of my week, if not life. The dude that plays Gob (sp?)... all he has to do is step into frame my sides split.
I recently found out Portia de Rossi is a lesbian... I think it's something I should have known but let it slip under my radar, but it still shocked me. She'd look so good on me.

yes david cross isn't funny because he was in scary movie II
disregard his amazing stand up and hours upon hours of hilarious tv footage.
because if you do one movie for some cashflow, you CANT be funny.

Maybe this is why I like it so much. I was seriously hooked after the first one so self-reference was the only thing it needed to attach me more, to suck me in for good.
And then FOX spat me out!!! For shame.

great show.
i think it might have been a blessing in disguise for Fox to have cut it off like that, because that meant it has garnered a cult following after its "martyrdom" in the hands of the moneyed dimwits.
Yea, some moments of pure genius there.
