well, i own vinyl edition of "medulla" and must say that I could listen to this album only on LP. CD cuts off all sound of this tiny breaths, blurps, farts and other things that are going on there. I like "desired constellation", "vokuro", "pleasure is all mine", "triumph of the heart". artwork makes me feel erotic too - and LP artwork is bigger than CD's :P |

well, she always put quite a bit of effort on the music part so far, her way of singing/interpretation was always the same..and it's the same on the new album which is basically just her singing, so i guess that means (at least for me) there's nothing new to hear..hmm |

it's a bit like Autechre, can be very good or masturboring to death depending on the mood you're in... (well, a bit less hard than Autechre though). anyway, easily the hardest of her albums to get into... and in my opinion, the least good (my favourite being Vespertine). one good point is that she doesn't do any of her "trademark screams" in icelandic in it! (except on 'Komið' but that's the hidden track and it's not in the regular editions so who cares) : ) |

another bad point, though that's not really important, is the "digifile" special edition CD/SACD hybrid packaging. those packagings are stupid, they scratch the cds -_- and the "poster" and "booklet" are the same folded thing, doesn't look that good, a real booklet would have been much better! |

yeah, it's a HELL to bring out the CD and poster from that package, and since the first time I got it in my hands I prefer to store the cd in a gentle paper cardboard. vinyl > SACD, DVD-A?? I think you only need a good stereo with obviously good spekaers... after all, after some use the vinyl loses the real fidelity by the scratch noises, vinyl will always be a nice format (also to have a bigger artwork) but I think sometimes it isn't a practical format |

the concept of the album is awesome the songs on the other hand are not good they are plainly not musically good she should have worked on making good music before doing a crazy album like that and that is coming from a huge bjork fan... |

im with the majority here - didn't like this one, concept sounded good but it's a real pain in the ass to listen to. vespertine on the other hand was so pretty. i like how each of her albums is nothing like the previous one, so i am looking forward to album 6 regardless.. anyone know owt about it? |
